For portal attrition (32), how many portal guys are we going to sign? And at what positions?

I say up to 14 (including Juco):
- 1 backup qb
- 1 backup RB
- 3 OL capable of starting, although we can get by with 2 if Carvin comes back. Cade likely gone.
- 1 WR capable of starting
- 2 DL capable of starting, (1 pass rusher, 1 interior)
- 2 LB capable of starting
- 2 S capable of starting
- 2 CB capable of starting

Our D is pretty short of play makers. When the QB scrambles we have almost no one capable of chasing him down.

The guys from high school we can possibly get are likely going to get recruited over if we are winning. So much won’t change regarding future depth.

I don’t think Flowers has shown enough to leave so I would expect him back (covid year pass) and I like what we have in Charles, Slaughter, and McDonald so I’m okay with not talking Charleston.

We brought in 10 guys after Heupel took over. That was after the peak transfer period of December and January. There will be plenty of guys moving around.

We get up to 7 (although number is TBD). It depends on when in the cycle they left. We also had 4 guys released from NLI that we can back count. So we are still on track for several extra spots.

Beckwith, Bailey and/or Milton off the top of my head. And it we end up with 7 it’ll be 11 new spots above the 25. Point is still valid that it’s there to replace portal with portal, and ensure that you’re not cutting into the number of HS players.

I really don’t know how many extra. Some of the portal guys we brought in this year might be forward counted against next year. Only the coaches know how many spots are available.

Agree. I don’t see point in adding a low level high school player that gets recruited over and transfers in 2 years.

Vol calls said max would be about 80 scholarship players next year. It would take about 3 years to reach max 85 .
