At the end of the season...

Nico has to be the most frustrating qb to play for us in a while. And that’s coming off Milton. He has all the talent in the world, just can’t seem to put it together
For the knuckleheads that always want the backup because the starter is terrible, check this out.
Nico Iamaleave is a redshirt FRESHMAN, starting his SEVENTH game. Here are his stats.
He is 6-1, NOT 1-6
1533 yards at a 65% completion rate
He has 9 tds and 3 ints.

Here the stats from another UT QB during their freshman year.

8-4
1141 yards at a 62% completion rate
11 tds and 6 ints.
You would cry " BENCH HIM, HE IS CLUELESS"!
Peyton might disagree.

You want an example of bad play calling ? Early in the game, think it was 2nd possession and we're backed up on our own goal line and we run up the middle for no gain until we have to punt from the end zone. Florida gets the ball on the 50 yd line after we punt. All night long our defense had to bail out poor play calling and executation by the offense.
Please, go back and look at EVERY time ANY team starts a drive inside the 5 and give me a breakdown of the playcalling. You might be shocked that over 90% of the time the team will run the ball in that situation. A sack in that situation is 2 points for the other team.

Something drastic needs to be done with this offense and the staff. The play calling isn't going to get us to the next level. Talent and development is there. Heupel needs to bring in an OC that can get our offense back in shape.

Heupel needs to go back in the lab this offseason and figure out why QBs struggle to run his offense. Hooker ran it close to perfection while Milton and Nico have struggled.

He has to figure this out.

Started flat. Found some success in the second half on Offense. Found a way to win a game we should have lost.
Edit: didn’t start flat. Lost momentum due to a freshman mistake.

You saw what Miami or Texas A&M did to Florida in the swamp? That is what a GOOD team does to teams like Florida.

I was in aware that teams were allowed to adjust.
Miami lost to VT (it was stolen on replay) who lost to vandy.
A&M got murdered by Notre Dame and loses to Arky with out a very suspect holding call at the right time.

Maybe we should spend some time looking at the forest and not just a tree.

You know, some of us are ok with him figuring it out as the season progresses as opposed to waiting till the end of the season

Huh? Texas A&M us currently winning the SEC and Miami is still undefeated. Both beat Florida soundly.

Forest vs trees.

I guess you think our NT team was unbeatable. Maybe you forgot the opening game in Cuse where we lose if not for a very bad PI call going our way on 4th down very late in the game.

They got better as season went on. Current Tennessee is not getting better. They are regressing on offense.

Gonna need to go in the portal and grab a QB. Nico Overthrew 3 touchdown passes, Threw a terrible Pick and a hospital pass over the middle to brazzel. 8 mil to hand the ball off to sampson isn't gonna get it done, and with Sampson gone next year if Nico doesn't see Major improvement we're gonna be flirting with bowl eligiblity.
You forgot the blue font.

Hooker was a 6th year senior. Sounds like it's more on you to figure some things out. Nico is better 7 games into his college career than Hooker at the time. 😯 Does that help you some?

Yes, and a week after everyone declared Alabama the best team in the land, they basically got dominated by Vanderbilt, and barely squeaked one out against South Carolina this week. This is the nuttiest college football season that I can ever remember. Expect the unexpected this year.

It isnt a "figure it out in the middle of the season" type problem. It is much bigger than that and going to take time he doesnt have during a season to diagnose and then time to implement those changes in how he teaches/coaches his QBs.

Now that we’re up against SEC defenses, Nico is playing like what he is, a freshman. He’s having to do it with very little protection too. Folks promoted him to Heisman status way too early and now blame him for not meeting their expectations. The game hasn’t even slowed down for him yet. We’ve seen what he can do with protection. The talent is there but the hands on experience will take a little more time

No, because Milton was also a veteran QB and struggled in this system. Also, Nico isnt a freshman has been in this system for almost 2 years now. He was also dubbed the perfect QB for this system.

You are trying to excuse the problem and they arent good excuses to be honest.

I don't have a problem running the ball when you are backed up there, but I do have a problem running up the middle for no gain all 3 downs. Mix it up is all I'm saying. If your offense is struggling it only makes it harder on them when everyone on the planet knows you're fixing to run the ball up the middle over and over
BTW,from my memory bank ( stored data from college/pro games) teams that are backed up most often get a first down and some breathing room from passing the ball

Miami lost to VT till instant reply took it away. They are still undefeated but playing worse than they did earlier in the season.

And football, because of the physical aspect of the game, is the only sport where we decide one game is an absolute. Other sports play a series to determine which team is the better team.

Even Ga and Bama have split back to back games.

Stop selectively picking your data to support your preconceived notions
