At this point should we play one of Vescovi or Plavsic in spite of NCAA?

Well then even better. We can continue to build our program after playing Vescovi while a minor violation is tied up in appellate court for 8 years. It’s a win win in my book. Seems to work for everyone else...
Vescovi is eligible to play vs. LSU, Barnes is the one who said he didn't want to put pressure on him to play this season

Well if Vescovi is really eligible for SEC play, that is great news. I truly hope that is the case

That's not been announced unless it just happened.
My understanding is that Barnes has said he won't play this year and it has nothing to do with NCAA issues. This season was a transition type season anyhow so I'm not sure if it's better to play him for experience or develop him to prepare for next year with more weapons.

Barnes said that before Turner quit. Barnes now says it's pretty much up to Vescovi to decide and to respond if he choses to not redshirt.

They aren't discriminating against Uros. He transferred and has to sit out a year. TN has been trying to get an exception to the rule. Vescovi's situation is almost identical to Stokes except he was in the NBA program instead of graduating from high school mid-year.

Different sport but....They’re not discriminating against Uros? yet Justin fields tranfers to Ohio State in January and is declared eligible to play for Ohio State this year in May...meanwhile Aubrey Solomon tranfers to UT from Michigan the same semester as Fields and has to wait until Labor Day to be declared eligible.

But no discrimination or favoritism right? Lmao, righhttt. Expedation seems to entirely depend on how many powerful alums your school has working for the the NCAA. BS

Ok, then I’m all in on playing Vescovi, but if the NCAA is going to punish us for that, we might as well play Plavsic too because I feel the accumulated punishment wouldn’t be much more than only playing Vescovi...and possibly worth it in the long run. But I would be happy with just 1 out of the 2
They can't. He's eligible.

All Vescovi needed was transcripts from high school verified. He is eligible the second they are. This is no different than a mid term football enrollee being able to do spring practice.

I've wondered when he was actually in high school. Is the NBA Academy considered the equivalent of high school? Vescovi isn't very old.

My theory is that with Turner being out this will be a rebuilding year anyway. The season is nearly half over and we have 8 wins. Without Turner, Plavsic, or Vescovi we are staring a 7-11type SEC season right in the face.

Since Plavsic has already been denied once, I say we play Vescovi regardless of the consequences. What is the worst the NCAA will do to us? Vacate our 7 or 8 SEC wins this year? Big whoop...because that is what it is looking like. I would honestly rather have at least Vescovi, maybe Plavsic just go ahead and play to get the SEC experience for next year. Who really cares if we vacate 8 or so SEC wins as long as we get these guys experience. We could make those up in ‘21 and ‘22 easy with veteran players.

Surely the NCAA wouldn’t put us on probation for playing players who are in good academic standing, and were recruited legally with no financial incentives. What is the risk reward at this point? Would you trade 7-9 vacated wins in SEC play just to get the guys experience for next year since we will have sooo much new enrolling talent? I would....because I don’t see us doing much better than that after losing Turner. Thoughts? It’s not like it’s a Wiseman situation at Memphis, not even close...
🤣🤣🤣 Clearly you have never pissed off the wrong people or you have and still haven’t learned.

You are absolutely right. Your extra emojis have exposed me, and really drive your point home. My complete and utter apologies sir. I wish I had as much experience as you 🙄

Athletes who qualify for the NBA Academy are called student athletes and attend a private high school while at the academy. Vescovi is 18.

I'm not up for breaking the rules like OP says. But, if either player gets cleared then U hope they play them. This year is nothing more than a rebuild, so all the PT from the 2 newbies the better.

Do the best you can boys. Never quit and get ready for 20-21'. Plenty of experience and an infusion of blue chippers can make for a special season next year.
