A friend of mine told me the other day that sense I am Agnostic then I'm no different than an Atheist...I explained to him I believed in a God,but he wanted to argue his point.
Do you think their the same cause I know their not.

If you are agnostic is basically means you think they "may" be something out there. It may be God, god's, etc but you really dont have any one certain one you believe in. Atheism is having no belief in any god/God

Their are a lot of the books of the bible that were left out most of them agnostic.Books by Philip and Mary magdalen.Books that showed women in a better light for that time period in history. Also because they were left out of the cannon,it was probably a contributing factor to the beginning of the dark ages.
One agnostic belief was that the was a god above the god over this planet earth.

Definitely not the same. Atheists have no belief in a god. Agnostics believe there is not enough evidence to prove there is a god, but believe there is still a possibility that he/she/they/it may exist.

I don't think the word "atheist" should even exist. There is no word for somebody who doesn't believe in Zeus, Thor, or Posidon. If you are christian, then you are an "atheist" with respect to the Gods of Bhuddism. In fact, if you believe in an idea of God, you are an atheist with respect to any other God that doesn't fit your purview. "Atheists" just take it one God further. Atheism is simply a refusal to deny the obvious.

The following article says this much better than I can:

I think that “atheist” is a term that we do not need, in the same way that we don’t need a word for someone who rejects astrology. We simply do not call people “non-astrologers.” All we need are words like “reason” and “evidence” and “common sense” to put astrologers in their place, and so it could be with religion.

I think everyone has a certain amount of agnostic beliefs. Ex: a dumba** walks on top of a bridge with a baby and throws it into the water, Or a mom who was prob on crack while she was pregnant and never should've conceived leaves her baby in a dumpster. I don't know about you but this crap can kinda make you think "where was God at when this happened." Christians are so good at saying "well, maybe it wasn't meant to be" or "God must have other plans." If you tell me this kind of crap was someone's plan I'd like to have some words with them.

I believe the word you were looking for was "gnostic". I highly doubt that distancing the Church from books that discuss magic and black magic (a similarity of many of the gnostic gospels) contributed to the "Dark Ages".

However, if you want to talk about the Catholic Church and its contribution to the education and the arts that inspired the Renaissance and the Enlightenment, then please feel free to do so.

Atheism: The belief that there was nothing, and nothing happened to nothing. Then for no reason, nothing magically exploded creating everything. Then for no reason whatsoever, everything miraculously rearranged itself in to self replicating bits. The self replicating bits then turned into dinosaurs.

Now, what was that about the Bible being the greatest story ever told?
