ATHLON: Ranking the SEC Quarterbacks

I'm totally stoked about Worley. The kid is a good qb. With the crap team we had last year we should have won eight games. If he started vandy we would have won 7. He's a senior, he has the experience and most of all, he wants it. You guys are crazy to think we aren't ok at qb.

If UT has to play three QB's next season, four wins may be the limit. UT desperately needs a QB to take the job and never look back. Someone needs to be the man! Worley will get the first shot at being the man.

When 4 QB's are in the running for the starting job it's not a good sign. It's too bad no one has truly separated himself from the pack.

Why would you even reply to him? All you're going to do is piss other people off replying to the guy that was obviously trolling/joking.

99gator can be annoying sometimes (mostly because he's a gator and that makes him annoying as a given) but he's not a troll.

He's just a gator fan who likes to hang out around here for some reason. I don't think he's a troll: he just has a different bias than we do.

And our other QB's are ranked behind Worley....So?

1st we dont have any true freshmen qbs on our roster.

2nd thats my point.

How can a qb that hasn't taken one college snap be ranked over a senior thats got a top 10 win under his belt.

My guess is by the end of this season, Worley will finish in the top 3 of this list. I have a feeling he is going to be much improved this year.

Dobbs will come in for clean up against USU, Ark State, and Chat. Doubt we'll see the other 2 this year (or ever).

For a senior, Worley has played very little. If his play appears to be solid enough to be the starter for the season, then they should allow him to get all the snaps possible - even when there's a sizeable lead IMO.

If indeed Worley is the man this season, then Dobbs should get his red shirt season this year instead of playing mop up duty. Now if Worley is injured or plays poorly, then play the next best guy regardless of red shirts.

Auburn just went to the national championship game and their coach has not handed Marshal the guaranteed starting QB title. Some coaches prefer to keep every position as an open competition - not neccessarily a bad thing to not have named a starter.

What's too bad is that we don't know if your avi has been photo shopped or not. :good!:

Point taken, but everyone knows Marshall is the starter.

I'm not sold on Bo Wallace either. #2 seems way too high.

Talent wise he is on Par with Worley, but Freeze is a really good play caller. That offense knows how to get playmakers the ball quick and in space

The ranking also shows the level of QB play in the league this year.

Jeff Driskel is a D grade Tim Tebow. Nowadays we all know Floridate won in spite of Tebow, not because of him. I wish they'd rated him #1 so he felt like he didnt have anything to prove ... now he'll work harder and move up to just bad from horrid.

Won in spite of Tebow? Kidding or sarcastic?

Ton of great college QBs never make it in the NFL. Tebow was a huge part of Florida's success.

Nick Saban failed in the NFL. That proves that Alabama has won in spite of him.

Yep. Both Calipari and Pitino also failed in the NBA too. Guess Ky and Louisville's programs were able to overcome those couple of losers too.

Barker and McElroy were great college QBs at Bama. Shuler and C. Clausen were great college QBs at Tennessee. None of the 4 made a scratch in the NFL. Don't understand why guys don't see this. A guy could be a great player at one level but not at another....doesn't diminish his accomplishments at the lower level.

It's a really weird coping mechanism that every fanbase, at one time or another, resorts to in order to try and diminish their rivals. It's as if they think that when a star player fails in the NFL, somehow his college program has to give up trophies or awards he helped earn. I haven't visited their facility, but I'm pretty sure that Florida still has both of the crystal footballs that Tebow was a part of.

He has the tools, just has been a product of bad coaching, injuries on his line, and UT broke his leg last season. He has the ability to put it all together for his Senior season.

Yes, and they should buy our team a steak dinner because they actually played much better after he got hurt.

Urban Meyer had a dream that God told him that 99gator really wants to be a Vol fan. Otherwise why would he hang out here?
