I agree he should be a shoe in for a first ballot but some of the voters think being a first ballot guy is a sacred thing and don't vote for guys just because they think it should only happen in cases they see fit. Chipper's #3 all time in homeruns by a switch hitter trailing only Mickey Mantle and Eddie Murray, that alone should get him in on the first ballot.
It's a crime the way some writers power trip with their HOF ballot.
Still, we're coming up on what should be a pretty amazing run for the Braves with Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, Cox and Chipper all getting in.
