Atlanta Braves II

On top of that, with the unbalanced schedule, teams played everybody within their division 18 times. That meant a team from Atlanta was having to play 1/3 of their away games in the state of California. They perennially sucked enough without the schedule forcing them to travel more than any team in baseball other than maybe Seattle.

I always loved the California road trips for some reason though. You'd get a whole week of 1 am games. Of course that's back when I was in high school and I could just go home and take a nap after school everyday.

I still can't watch a game in Dodger Stadium without feeling a little wistful about the guy in the Panama Jack hat with the radar gun right behind home plate.

With that said didn't the braves win the '69 West, their first year in the division -- first year of the division?

I think that's right. But thankfully, somebody has finally posted something before my time.

I'm definitely happier to see Beachy's name come up on the schedule than anybody else's right now, that's for sure. He's got a chance to be really good.

Going into that last inning, Beachy's ERA was down to 0.39. Think how hard it is to have an ERA that low yet have a loss on your record.

@mlbbowman: First home run Beachy has allowed since Ibanez took him deep in the second inning on Sept. 7. Was a homerless streak of 42 2/3 innings

Obviously I want to win this one, but if we lose I hope we at least score enough to get him off the hook.

V with the quick hook haha

In all seriousness, it isn't the 7-9th..Fredi has no clue what to do.

I would generally not let my pitchers get into too much trouble their third time through the order. A guy gives up a dinger and a couple more baserunners, including a walk, he'd usually be gone. The stats are pretty conclusive as to how rapidly pitchers go downhill their third time through.
