I would generally not let my pitchers get into too much trouble their third time through the order. A guy gives up a dinger and a couple more baserunners, including a walk, he'd usually be gone. The stats are pretty conclusive as to how rapidly pitchers go downhill their third time through.

I don't disagree..but in fairness Ethier reached via strikeout.

On a wild pitch. He was clearly losing it in the 6th. You lose effectiveness the third time through in a one-run game, and I'd yank you unless you're one of these guys that's proven you can regularly work deep into games. And the Braves don't have any of those guys.
 
This pitcher is one tough dude. If I got hit in the face with that line drive, I'd be sitting down on the mound crying like a little girl.
 
I'm literally speechless. He just took a line shot to the face and barely even flinched. He's really lucky..and one tough SOB

I think it actually pumped him up..can you imagine the adrenaline running through him right now? No doubt his life flashed before his eyes.
