I don't know what exactly you mean by the Boras factor? Not being a dick, jw.

He has had national hype since he was 16 and been fine. He's the most analyzed and discussed prospect of all time... we will see if he can handle it (the good, flattering parts... and the overanalytical, negative parts). I think he can. And I also don't think he will be a huge difference maker this early / this season.

Oh, and he's better than Jeff Francoeur. But I get what you mean.

Boras is, obviously, extremely good at maximizing every dollar possible from the process for his clients. But he accomplishes this by manipulating the hell out of teams and his players, and sometimes this fosters needlessly adversarial relationships between them. Which is one thing when the clients are jaded, but potentially toxic when players are young and the team still owns them for several years. Maybe it would go to far to call him a corrupting influence, per se....but I don't exactly think having him involved in the process leads to the best baseball decisions for any of the parties involved.

You think at this point?

Just on his defense alone.

I would rather have Simmons' .260/.310/.390 and his stellar D than, let's say, .280/.330/.420 from Pastor T at short.

Also, while I think Rev can be a good MLB player, I think his future his as an Omar Infante type guy (before his trade to Miami). Play 120 games a year, can play anywhere, can fill in a sinch.

I would agree with this..

Plus who wouldn't want to admire Simmons arm. He has been clocked as high as 99 off the mound. Talking Furcal arm.

But it is on record here that I like Rev. Kid has the potential to be an everyday SS. Evident by how he works the count and goes opposite field at the dish.

Rev would be a very good second baseman. I just don't think he's a SS.

After all my *****ing for hinkse to get more action, I apologize after that defensive gaffe

I was listening in the car and wondered if the ball was really over his head or if he screwed it up. They implied that the ball was playable but didn't come out and say that.

It was catchable but he did not get back on it. Not that he mishandled it, it just simply beat him to the wall -- and the wall looked scared for a moment there.
