The contrast between these two sports when I switch back and forth is kind of amazing. Baseball is so much better for everybody involved. Even the fans.

I really think hockey could have made it in Atlanta if they'd had any kind of ownership. It's got a higher northern transplant population than any of the other southern cities the NHL has tried. But people aren't stupid; when you have the lowest payroll in the league every year, people know you're not even trying. Those fsckers bought two of the city's pro teams and ruined both of them.

If you'd told me 15 years ago that the Falcons would be the only team in the city with decent ownership, I would never have believed you.

Oh god, the rankin smith era should be reviewed by every professional sports franchise of how not to do it -- regardless of the sport.

Well, at least it didn't take three overtimes this time. So what happened -- the Braves finally retaliated for teams throwing at their hitters, so of course he came around and scored?
