Atlanta Braves II

I'm already planning on going to Wrigley next season when the Braves are in town, assuming my schedule allows it. Airfare to Chicago is very reasonable.

Have any of you ever seen a guy get thrown out at the plate attempting an inside the park HR? I can't ever remember seeing that.

I know I've seen it before, but it's been a long time. Can't remember the circumstances.

Nice recovery by Heyward. Great turn by Uggla. Obviously the right play by Castro to go for it with two outs. It took a great recovery to get him, and the Braves did.

Tough to lose 1-0 on 27 hopper past the SS. At least encouraging to see Hudson dealing like that. He could have easily stayed in and gone the distance.

Could someone please get a memo to Brian Jordan letting him know that the guy that has been playing RF for the past 3 years is not named Jason Haywood.

And the Cubs can or will? Really? Over a century! The last time the Cubs won the series the #1 mode of transportation for Americans was horses. So I stand by the Cubs being the Ole Miss of the MLB.

Hahahaha. That's hilarious, and true. Very sad for that "organization". Also sad that the Braves lost this series. This team is very frustrating.

It's precisely why I like it. I think Wildcard teams should be tormented by something like a knockout round.

It's not a round though..it's a blink. You play 162 game season for it to end with a Dan UGGLA error, an Omar Infante HR, or Joe Blanton unexplainably finding his best stuff for one day? Baseball is and always has been the law of averages. You run hot, you run cold, and over enough time the numbers bear out what you are. A one game play-in is the exact opposite of that. I understand what you're saying about wanting to reward the division winners, but a one game play-in is a mockery to me. Make four divisions or two divisions and eliminate the WC all together if you want to "punish" that team.

I like the idea of 4 divisions in each league, but they'd have to expand by 2 more teams to make that work. Otherwise theyd be stuck with a couple of 3 team divisions which is goofy.

The wild card already killed all that. The Marlins won two World Series without ever winning their division. You start letting losers into the crapshoot that is the baseball postseason, sometimes they're going to win.

I'm in favor of anything that punishes wild card teams. Win your damn division, like you had to back when men played the game.
