Huh, I would think Bob Rathbun is too generic to be a truly horrible announcer. Sort of like Kenny Albert, et al. He has a silly announcer-guy voice; he can get outraged on behalf of the home team if he's working a local broadcast. He's a replacement-level announcer. Nique is the one whom opposing fans usually call out as terrible.

The way the Mets hate but also slightly love/respect Chipper is one of my favorite things on baseball.

Verc, GA who does the Hawks play by play? He is horrendous.

Pretty sure it's still Bob Rathbun and, yes, he can be tough to listen to because he's so bland.

Steve Holman over on the radio is excellent.

He will always be my favorite player. Loved him growing up. I appreciate him even more now, knowing that he came from the steroid era and never used them.

Don’t know if anyone posted this here. I saw it yesterday and thought I would share.

1999 was my favorite season ever. Had surgery that year and spent the summer watching pretty much every game the braves played.

Chipper Jones absolutely destroyed the Mets that year.

Considering I am 25 and understand it is silly to idolize sports figures or have a sports hero, Chipper will most likely be my favorite athlete ever*.

Until Verc comes in here and destroys Chipper for not playing everyday 😁

*Unless a QB leads the Lions to a Super Bowl. Then they will be my favorite person ever outside my parents.
