Braves have traded Lucas Harrell and Dario Alvarez to the Rangers for Infield power prospect Travis Demeritte played this year for Team USA in the Futures Game.

Cool story bro, but I was actually roommates with Travis in Chicago when we won a national championship with the 17u East Cobb Astros. I was a pitcher and his backup at 3b all year so I got to know him pretty well. I'll always say he was the most naturally talented baseball played I've ever personally known.

I don't think we're giving enough credit to the Braves for this trade, though. Demeritte is a legitimate prospect. If he can ever get those k's down (huge, huge if) he could be a very useful player.

I agree. They basically took two guys out of the recycling bin in May and turned them into a power hitting prospect 2 months later. It's a great series of moves.
