We trotted out Emilio bonifacio with the bases loaded and two outs last night as our #1 bench bat and you guys are complaining about signing Ryan Howard to a minor league deal? This should have been done a month ago so the guy could get some ABs and be on the team now. Best you can hope for from a pitcher hitter is someone who can run into one and we have a bench of guys who can't hit the ball out of the dirt.

That is a valid point. This bench does suck. My only issue is Ryan cannot play the field

My original post wasn't a complaint, just more of a shocked reaction. Read one blurb that listed it as a bit of FFF insurance/option to use in interleague stints. More than anything, just wasn't a name I expected to hear again.
