Atlanta Braves Thread (I HURT MYSELF TODAY TO SEE IF I STILL FEEL)

Bartolo is the ultimate "love him if he's on my team, hate him if he's on the other team" guy.

Chip and Joe were always quick to point out that HGH suspension and roll their eyes at him when he was a Met. Now they chuckle and high five along with everyone else.

Also, I really like the idea of Howard as a bench bat. He's a sub-.200 hitter but he did club 25 HRs last year in just 362 plate appearances.

So Ryan Howard, huh?

I was like :dunno: but the more you think about it... :good!:

A solid late inning left handed power bat off the bench as well as a solid DH when playing in AL parks.

He can also maybe give Freddie a few days off during the heart of the season to stay fresh.

edit:
I just realized he would have finished 2nd on the team behind Freeman last season with 25 home runs.

He'd been 4th behind Freeman, Markakis & Garcia in RBI's with 59.

Exactly. I think you give him a shot purely on the power he still probably has. He hit 25 HRs as a platoon last year. He was on pace for 45 HRs if he were a full-time player. Sure the average is atrocious, but that doesn't matter as much when you're coming off the bench.

Don't make me dig up the "Matt Kemp gonna drop 15 lbs and make a run at MVP if Braves contend for WC" post

From now on the question will the braves score this inning will be replaced with does Matt Kemp bat this inning? (Sorry scott)

Other than Kemp already claiming the MVP, the Tebow HR truthers are my favorite baseball story of the year no matter what else happens. I'll never believe it happened.

Lol we were focused on an 8th bum out of the pen and we got Bonifacio hitting in the late innings
