Chris Collinsworth was literally talking about whether the Pats would let them score on purpose.

I would guess the thought process went something like this: "We've only got one timeout left. So if we can't score on 2nd down we're probably going to have to throw it on 3rd down to ensure we have enough time to run a play on 4th down. So let's try to surprise them and throw it on 2nd down instead. Then if we don't score we've got 20 seconds left and a timeout and we can do whatever we want."

Unfortunately that ignores the fact that there's a 70 percent you make it all moot by just handing off on 2nd down and scoring the TD.

I would put Butler winning the MVP over Brady, tbh.

Should have been Edelman, though. They couldn't stop him.

Brady played really well but without Edelman getting open and being one tough SOB Pats lose by 14.

I'm almost positive he got a concussion on that one play..... and kept running

I was shocked that he was allowed to stay on the field. Of course, Russell Wilson damn near got decapitated on that INT return a couple weeks ago and never even sat out one play, so it seems the concussion rules have a little wiggle room when big games are on the line.

I caught that too. How stupid would that have been? I get it if you're leading by less than three, maybe even if it's a tie game, but not when you're up enough where only a touchdown can beat you. Especially with that little amount of time left. You have to rely on your defense to keep them out of the endzone.

Anyway, it was a really entertaining game. Unfortunately, somebody had to win.

Honestly, that was stupid by CBB. He should have taken a TO immediately and then let them scored.

He got bailed out.

I disagree. There was somewhere around one minute left. They'd already used one timeout, so there's number two gone. Now, Seattle scores and goes up three so yes, New England only needs a FG to tie, but they'd have maybe :45 seconds, one timeout, and no deep threat.

You have to make Seattle win the game.

They still probably should have used a TO because odds are Lynch takes it in on 2nd down and then the Pats would have still had over a minute left to get down into FG range.
