This is my thinking.

DeBord is a really good o line coach. This is a way to get another O-Line guy on staff to help. I think Butch takes over play calling and becomes the de facto play caller.

Pretty underwhelming OC hire, but given UT's hiring track record, we probably should have expected not to be blown away. Like Verc said though, he'll probably just end up largely as a figurehead, so I don't know how much he can really screw things up.
