Not that Neyland isn't the greatest thing of all time but the reason that you can do that with Michigan's stadium is because you walk in at ground level and you are 3/4 up the steps. Most of the stadium is dug out down below.

I get the sense that that must be how most of the really big stadiums are, at least to some degree, because what I've heard repeatedly is that Neyland is the one that feels the most physically imposing in terms of how high it is and how straight up it goes.

That is a very fair point but, most importantly, you can most definitely not fsck with a winning streak. All I can say is, I feel your pain, but it's amazing weather and you and mrs Verc should be outside drinking whiskey anyway so life should be good

Hockey is different. It doesn't matter how a team played going in. It doesn't matter whether you have home ice. The playoffs don't feel like they have any carryover at all. Embrace it and go full throat.

Did I tell yall I found a decent pint of Guinness while I was gone? It was an hour and a half away, in Mississippi. Of course.

I did get to have about six or seven "Butch is coming for your ass" conversations with the damn swamp dwellers down there, based off the Vol regalia I was sporting. My takeaway is that while none of them were exactly worried, every one of them regards Jones as a legitimate threat.

Silver lining, Bruins shat the bed so badly this last week that I don't have to bother myself with any 5 hour, 3 OT games this year.

Go Blues! I mean, in the most "I couldn't give two chits kinda way" go Blues and GWN.

Playoff hockey: a fan of a recent cup winner can legitimately console himself that at least he's not going to have any more horrifying playoff memories burned into his brain this year. Hockey may not be my favorite sport, exactly, but it hurts worse than all the others.

Can't wait to see how the Caps shlt on me this year!!

Last time the Blues were this good, they won the President's Trophy and promptly lost in the first round to San Jose. I'm not holding my breath.
