Looks like Bullock is likely gone. He has a kid, so that probably helped make his decision. Hopefully he plays himself into the late first and is successful. Andrew, Sup.

Chris Johnson has been straight cash. He has always had a good bat but hasn't always had protection in the lineup. Scotty expects a .300 season for him.

Gonna be tough to maintain that avg splitting ABs again when freeman is healthy. I'm definitely happy with the roster flexibility though.

Gattis/McCann gonna be a dicey situash, you guys.

Oh yeah. That it will be. Gattis has proven he can handle the staff. He has the better arm. Younger, healthier, and I believe he can put up at worst the same production as McCann the last couple years. I say let that dog eat.

Gotta let Mac play to have any kind of trade value though

You have to run Mac out there against some righties to prove health and value. If Gattis is still crushing by the deadline, then Mac should be long gone, bringing in whatever we need at that time.

Unfortunately, I think there won't be much market for an aging, expensive (or soon to be expensive) catcher in the final year of a contract, coming off of shoulder surgery. Barring an injury, if you look at the clubs that figure to be contenders, who needs catching help? Maybe Detroit, if they tire of Avila (who has potential and is still young). Yankees perhaps, but I don't know that they'll be contending once the trade deadline rolls around.

Dodgers would sure take him, I bet.

If the Rays wanted to add a bat it'd be a fun little move.

Yankees.

I could see the Rays maybe taking a look. I think Ellis is a pretty good fit in LA, so I wouldn't think they'd trade for McCann with the intent of him being a backup.

This.

His track record is that of a top flight offensive player when healthy. Plugging that bat in at C is a definite worthwhile risk for a contender. He shouldn't be unbearably expensive for half a season.

Agree, not being able to DH him puts a damper on the LA move.
