I like roster flexibility as well. I guess Laird goes the DL forever, or gets released? I don't see them releasing someone they just signed. No way you put J Blaze on waivers though.

I think that's what happened to Martinez last week.

Fredi/Wren: Hey, Cristian. It looks like your shoulder is bothering you.

Martinez: No. I'm good to go.

Fredi/Wren: (With emphasis) Hey, Cristian. It looks like your shoulder is really bothering you.

If your hang up is *prove he's healthy* then okay agreed.

It's not just health. McCann hasn't been any good in what, two years? Since the first half of 2011, I think.

I'll be really surprised if he gets traded. If he shows enough that anybody will want him, then the Braves will want to keep him themselves and dump Laird.

He was good in 2011 but that may be when you are referring to.

I was just trying to realize was vitN was saying... which was there's no way to tell anything for a good while.

If it's apparent to other teams that Gattis is your guy thus trying to move McCann why would anyone give up anything for a guy you'll more than likely DFA or release eventually?

Either you're trolling or you really are dumb. Same applies for the statement you dropped on Soriano.. which by the way I compleeeeetlllyyyyyy proved my point on that.

From now on whenever I'm feeling a little down, I'm going to think "DFA McCann"

Instant comedy.

For all of which he was injured. Oblique in 11, shoulder in 12. McCann can hit.

It doesn't matter whether he's been hurt, old, or just in a bad mood. We're coming up on two years since McCann was a decent offensive player. Nobody's going to trade anything of value for him unless he has sustained success. And if he has sustained success, the Braves won't trade him. He's not going anywhere.

Agree to disagree.

Not necessarily true. Although I do believe that he is not going anywhere.

You guys really think some team out there would be willing to part with an actual asset of value in order to take a flyer on a couple months of a catcher who's been hurt and ineffective for two straight years?

Hanson was decent as recently as last year and wasn't coming off two straight years of injury. Three years of team control left. Far better risk.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe GMs are even stupider than I think they are. I wouldn't trade a ham sandwich for Brian McCann until I saw him prove he can play again.

You wouldn't get a prospect worth having, but you could find pitching depth if needed. I'm just of the opinion that McCann, even on the bench, is worth having over anything you might find on the market. Especially for a team of this caliber.

No you didn't. My only point was that I'd rather have the lead in the 9th with my team having the chance to close it out with my 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th option at closer. I just want the lead in the 9th.

LOL at releasing a 6x All Star months before his contract expires so he can sign with a rival and come back and bend 'em over.

You're missing the point. Potentially on purpose.

If he comes back and shows he's completely healthy this whole discussion is worthless. My whole reasoning is based on him not coming back and being effective.

More or less what I've been trying to say.

Ya dont say?!!

And nice job trying to spin in it around sweetheart.

You missed my point about not have one of the top closers in the game for a.) a close situation or b.) extra innings. Nats most likely win that game if they had Soriano in either a or b situation. You're wrong, I'm right. Come on Nati. You're better than this.. got to bring it dood. That watered down product you call NL Central baseball is clouding your baseball IQ. Hell, it was already on life support as it was.
