Noice. Still think he has an outside chance to wrestle that job away from Simmons but we'll see.

I really like the Natinals' bench.

I think the only question coming into Spring Training about Pastornicky was whether his knee would be ready or not, and it is ready. They want La Stella getting regular ABs, not being a backup 2B in Atlanta.

And if I had to guess he probably stole first move cause he felt like a jackass for thinking the hit was gone.

He's certainly no BJ Uptown Ballin who homered today and probably not even on par with JBlaze who has homered and stolen a base.

For shame, Bryce. For shame.

I got all excited when they cut Garcia because dumping the crappy veteran retread in favor of the young guys was such a non-Braves-like move. Ah ha, I thought. The most traditional, conservative organization in baseball is finally figuring it out. And then it turns out that it was just a salary dump over a lousy million dollars to replace Garcia with a different, possibly even worse crappy veteran retread. I can’t believe this loser is going to be starting in Atlanta in a couple of weeks. Gah

I agree with every last word of this post.

Garcia also refused a minor league assignment. Harang hasn't yet refused such, but will probably have that opportunity before the end of April.

Supposedly he refused one in Cleveland. Asked to be released when they told him he wasn't going to make the opening day roster.

I don't doubt that Harang is probably a marginal upgrade over Garcia, but the right move was to dump Garcia and move forward with the kids. Not to replace him with someone equally terrible who has no future.

Agree.

He isn't great, (or ideal) but the outing wasn't as bad at the final box would indicate. He made a bad pitch to Miggy who would have been pitched around, and there was a clown play In the Outfield, in the sixth.

Dude was sitting 90-93 for most of the game..

David Hale has been awful, and Schlosser (sp) is most likely a reliever

The Braves just had 40 percent of their starting rotation go down, possibly forever. They've got to figure out which if any of these kids are worth anything. I think it's a waste to give a month's worth of major-league starts to a zombie you're already planning to DFA in six weeks.
