Every year when The Show comes out is the only time I'm disappointed I don't own a PlayStation. I've just never been able to justify buying a separate console for one game when literally everyone I know who plays video games has an Xbox.
Everyone i knew who had an Xbox saw the light and converted to ps3.
You're not much of a console gamer though are you? I know you've talked about playing games on your computer in the past.
What's your beef with Xbox? I've seen you mention it several times but don't know if you've ever elaborated.
I owned PS1 and PS2, but switched to Xbox 10 or so years ago when Halo 2 came out and they started the Xbox Live service. All my buddies that play video games have stuck with Xbox so I don't really want to switch, even though the PS4 is probably the superior of the two new consoles.
Nothing really. Just that I hate Halo and the controllers and that you had to pay for Xbox live, but now you have to pay for PS plus on ps4.
I was a semi-serious PC gamer back when building and maintaining a gaming machine was something I had the time (and disposable income) to do. At some point benchmarking video drivers became something I lost interest in. I would probably have bought a Playstation or Xbox somewhere along the line, especially once the boy got old enough to play games with me, except that before I could seriously consider it, we were committed to Mario and the Nintendo ecosystem.
At least Mario Kart for the Wii U comes out next month. That has a chance to actually be fun.
I just built a new one. First time in probably as long as yourself.... heh
Was fun, I admit.
It's probably not that bad now that the rate of obsolescence has slowed so much. I used to build a new machine and spend an embarrassingly ridiculous amount of money on ram and the video card, and six months later a new game would come out and be choppy and I would hate myself. You can probably expect to enjoy a new system these days for much longer.
Valve's new Steambox/SteamOS concept is intriguing. If that eventually looks like it's going anywhere, I may end up putting a new box together to run it.

The sad part about. Mike Trout is...
The pick the Angels took him with was compensation for the Yanks signing Mark Texeria, who they got in a trade with the Braves for Casey Kotchman and a minor leaguer.
So if the Braves wouldn't have made that trade, then we would have Mike Trout.
Tragic!
