FWIW with the injury talk and booing, while the injury ended up being real it still proves the point. That killed our drive dead in the water. We thrive on getting in a fast paced groove and once the wheels are rolling we generally march down the field. Yes, several players flop and kill drives. If you didn’t like it, don’t come back I guess. Lol

I was in JJ around a bunch of aggies. 99% positive

1 fan was in a tennessee shirt heckling Tennessee fans. When we heckled back he couldn't take it.

1 fan was sour grapes after the game and was griping about how neyland is the worst stadium in the SEC....because you know the upper bowl on the south endzone is one of the least renovated parts of the stadium so its heavily outdated....
I. have been a Tennessee fan for over 80 years and I Am embarrassed by the conditions of the South Stands, especially the bathrooms. One of the reasons I let my kids and grand kids use my tickets is, I just can not stand in line long enough to take a leak at a 100 year old trough.

I have to admit that I did not find many UT fans as welcoming and polite, especially when the fans boo when A&M had an injured player. Very classless
I am sorry that you had an experience that you didn’t enjoy, truly. I was at the volunteer club tailgate, and was downtown the night before where there was a sizable aggie presence. There was a large A&M tailgate next to the vol club and I made sure to engage with many of the Aggies fans and compliment them on how well they traveled, and wished them a good Knoxville experience, and I saw many UT fans behaving similarly. Generally if you aren’t gator chomping, rolling tide or barking in peoples’ faces you will be ok at UT.

I do think that UT fans now assume that any defensive injuries are attempts to slow our offense until proven otherwise, which is of course unrealistic given the phyisical nature of the game. But That strategy has been so blatantly used over the last 3 years that it is hard not to make the assumption.

Once again, proof of disrespect. If your school was being insulted you would stand up for it and don't say that you wouldn't. That would be a lie. I am definitely not crying over people who have no clue what they are talking about. Nice try.
Look….you walked up to some artsy fartsy tailgate and were denied. That’s not an indication of UT fans in general. It was most likely a private function if they mentioned a guest list.
I could generalize aTm fans off of your behavior and say they’re all a bunch of overly sensitive, butt hurt cry babies…. But I know that’s not the case.

Your posts on here are showing why you had a bad time on Saturday. You're clearly not much fun to be around.
Judge all you want. I don't care. I had a great time when I was around Aggies but I am just very surprised at the lack of hospitality and friendliness by UT fans.

Interesting how only one ATM fan is complaining (a lot!!!😳). Facebook postings from Aggies I have seen are all positive.
Perhaps it would be best going forward, for ones of this personality/disposition to: Stay Home. Everyone will be much happier, including all the regular ATM fans.

That fartsy tailgate was just one encounter. There were others not worth mentioning. I am definitely not upset over the game and expected UT to win. We all knew it would be a good game and it was. The only thing that was surprising was the attitude of not only one tailgate person but encounters with other fans that were not very welcoming. Am I overly sensitive? Probably but only because I had expected a much different experience prior to the game. The atmosphere inside Neyland lived up to the hype. The only thing I did not care for was when the UT fans booed when the A&M players would get hurt. I have spoken to many other Aggies who had an experience like myself and others that said the UT fans they encountered were very nice. It would have been great if I had found those fans but I did not and it is what it is. I am just very disappointed in the overall experience because I expected something much different, regardless of the outcome of the game.

I am an A&M fan and had the exact opposite experience yesterday. Not invited into one tailgate and when I stopped to talk to a couple of Aggies at a tailgate, I was told to leave because it was a private tailgate and I was not on the guest list. Talk about lack of hospitality and just plain rude! I will never encourage any visiting team fan to go to Neyland. The loss, I expected due to our coach and other factors but I did not expect to be treated like dirt.
Boo hoo! Somebody is upset that they lost and the reality has set in that they are stuck with mediocrity because they can’t fire their coach anytime soon because of the buyout. You are stuck with a mediocre coach and many more mediocre seasons to come. Suck on that hospitality loser!

You are right. Lots of Aggie fans did have a great experience but others had an experience like mine and did not feel welcomed overall by the UT fans.

LOL! I am definitely not upset that we lost. I expected UT to win because our coach and our offense are terrible. Aggies are ready for Jimbo to go. I don't have to suck on anything that I already know but thank you for the insult, just more proof. lol

Aggie fans have always been classy to me. I filled in for an employee at my bar last and you know who I had to reprimand several tunes? Our fans for being rude and trashy to Aggie fans.

It's like we forgot how to win with some grace.

With all the respect in the world I don’t care about other fans opinions of us or our hospitality. If it doesn’t do with the Vols it means nothing to me

This has been my experience in Baton Rouge. Lots of drunk **** talking, but it's mainly just that. They are hospitable enough in Baton Rouge to invite folks to tailgate with them.....
Yeah, they will offer you to try their duck sausage......."duck down and get you some."

99% of all fans are pleasant to be around. EVERY fan base has the 1%, and unfortunately, they are the ones that draw the most attention.

Also, EVERY school has some quirky traditions. If you’re an opposing fan, they seem weird. But, if it’s your team, you think it’s great.

And this applies to Tennessee, Texas A&M and every other school in America.

I live in the middle of The Lone Star state and interact with A&M folks every day. That school puts out quality graduates.

You obviously have no clue what you are talking about. The yell leaders are a long time tradition that began when A&M was an all male school and did not admit women until the 1970's. The yell leaders are members of the corps of cadets, another long standing tradition at A&M, so at the early years of football games there were no cheerleaders and the upperclassmen made the younger guys get on the field to provide the entertainment. They guys also went into the janitors closet and got overalls as a funny outfit and the tradition stands to this day. That's why they wear overalls but they also lead the yells that the A&M fans learn through multiple sources but primarily through a midnight yell practice the Friday night before a game. A yell practice was held in Knoxville on Friday night. So, instead of cheerleaders that you cannot hear and only sing Rocky Top, which is not the official fight song of UT, we have yell leaders. Those forest rangers you are talking about are members of the Corps of Cadets, they are NOT forest rangers. Those students become members of the military in all branches and should be respected. By the way, General Neyland attended Texas A&M before being called to West Point and he was a member of the Corps of Cadets. They are not spinning little white hankies, they are spinning another tradition which is the 12th man towel, just like UT fans have orange and white shakers. What doesn't do it for me or what I think is the strangest thing is the lack of hospitality from UT fans and even booing when an A&M player gets injured. Completely classless.
There’s nothing respectable about being a male cheerleader and your program took that non-hetero tradition and cranked it up to 11. Your program is a nobody that hasn’t been relevant since the ‘30’s and shouldn’t be in this conference, especially now that the only 2 schools that matter in the southwest are joining. How’s that for classless?

1. Your existence doesn’t entitle you to the food and beverages paid for and earned by the hard work of others, especially those who are strangers to you.

2. You can tell anybody you want not to come to Neyland, but after reading your posts it’s obvious that you’re a Karen that no one will listen to anyway.

I love the old feel. Some of us recognize places like Wrigley and Fenway to be the cathedrals that they are. Some of us want to be entertained by something other than football at Neyland. I’m hoping we can have a putt putt course installed in the concourse so people don’t have to sit there and watch the game. We can then complete the transition to a minor league ballpark environment and name the stadium Netflix Neyland Stadium or something equally embarrassing.

Ok. I understand that one but what about the others? It's just disrespectful regardless of teams. No one wants to see a player get injured.
Because Tennessee almost always tries to run a hurry-up offense, many opposing coaches have taught their players to fake an injury so that the referes will stop play, which allows the defense to rest. Ole Miss under Lane Kiffin does this routinely and a few other schools do it as well. The boos are a reflex response to what the fans assume is a fake injury.

FWIW I don’t boo anybody for any reason because I think it’s stupid and pointless. However, I also don’t get too bent out of shape if others boo, including opposing fans. I don’t think anyone truly has any mean intent behind any of it; they’re usually just expressing frustration the only way they know how to.

Also FWIW it didn’t look like A&M was faking any injuries yesterday, and it appeared that a couple of the injuries were serious as well, which is a shame. I hope everyone heals up quickly.

I know what he is talking about since they have a newly reconstructed stadium that is well laid out and easy to get around. But I would take Neyland any day compared to not being able to see the numbers on the jersey from the upper decks in College Station. You felt you were still in Houston trying to see the field.

Heupel always has a lineman lay on the ground after an extra point to give our defense a chance to rest. Everyone takes advantage of the rule.

This is a recent phenomenon. Over the past few years, a lot of coaches have their players fake an injury to stop the clock or slow down the offensive teams momentum. That is what Vol fans were doing with their booing. Unfortunately once when that happened, the Aggie was actually quite injured and had to leave the game.

Boohoo. Figures there would be one Aggie fan that would get sideways about some perceived slight. If the way you come across here is any indication of how you interact in real life, no surprise you didn’t get a lot of positive interactions.

Sorry, some folks have private tailgates, a lot of them corporate and they pay high dollar for the spot and to entertain their guests/clients. Move on to the next one, someone will let you in. But regardless, if you don’t like it, then do your own tailgate. Contrary to how you feel, you aren’t entitled to anything.

All of the Aggie fan interactions I had with my group were positive and pleasant. We even invited a group of them into our tailgate because they weren’t complete jackholes expecting the world to hand them something. Try that next time.
