LOL! I am definitely not upset that we lost. I expected UT to win because our coach and our offense are terrible. Aggies are ready for Jimbo to go. I don't have to suck on anything that I already know but thank you for the insult, just more proof. lol
That big wad of panties must be very uncomfortable. Chill

I know what he is talking about since they have a newly reconstructed stadium that is well laid out and easy to get around. But I would take Neyland any day compared to not being able to see the numbers on the jersey from the upper decks in College Station. You felt you were still in Houston trying to see the field.
I wasn't very impressed with their stadium, it looked like they used 2 sets of plans to build it. It does hold alot of people, like you said, some seats require telescopic lenses.

They traveled well to be coming from so far away. They were surprisingly loud during the game as a visiting fanbase in Neyland. No bad interactions with them at all. I too have attended football and basketball games in College Station. Never heckled. Always nice.

There were at least 2-3 Aggie fans at the tailgate I go to. All were treated well. I also invited an Aggie acquaintance in town to come tailgate. They had other tailgate plans but said they would try to come by. Never did, so I assume they were having a good enough time elsewhere. I heard multiple Vol fans tell A&M fans "welcome" as I was walking outside the stadium. Multiple good games and handshakes after the game.

FYI - Peyton Manning did not beat Florida and lost big to Nebraska his last game. Move on.

Absolutely! I am also cheering for A&M to kill us as well. Their defense is outstanding!

there is no reason why Peyton should have a vote but given that I am the only one that worships the Lord and not Peyton I am in the minority.

I have to admit that I did not find many UT fans as welcoming and polite, especially when the fans boo when A&M had an injured player. Very classless
Maybe you give off a vibe people don't care for.

I was impressed with their fans, personally (with the exception of the one here in this thread). Talked to a lot of them, all were thrilled to be in Knoxville and wanted to know as much as they could about the campus and our gameday traditions. One guy was wondering around outside Volshop kind of lost, so I asked him if he was looking for something or someone, he was trying to figure out where OUR band marched into the stadium and this was 8AM! Really nice guy, talked for at least half an hour about the school and our respective teams. His family met up with him and we all ended up exchanging small talk and wished everyone well.

I haven’t had that kind of experience at other stadiums and very few from our regular opponents when they are in town. Just really nice folks all around.

That fartsy tailgate was just one encounter. There were others not worth mentioning. I am definitely not upset over the game and expected UT to win. We all knew it would be a good game and it was. The only thing that was surprising was the attitude of not only one tailgate person but encounters with other fans that were not very welcoming. Am I overly sensitive? Probably but only because I had expected a much different experience prior to the game. The atmosphere inside Neyland lived up to the hype. The only thing I did not care for was when the UT fans booed when the A&M players would get hurt. I have spoken to many other Aggies who had an experience like myself and others that said the UT fans they encountered were very nice. It would have been great if I had found those fans but I did not and it is what it is. I am just very disappointed in the overall experience because I expected something much different, regardless of the outcome of the game.
When does your novel go on sale?

12th man is in the hospital with a broken ankle!

So is that stud linebacker w the dislocated shoulder or concussion. Danielson hung on the sack of the kid ½ the game. The one who got knocked out by our 245# QB when he decided it was a good idea to try and rock him running out of bounds. 🤣

cry me a river...a&m sucks! everyone clapped when nolen was carted off.
Don’t bother trying to explain, my friend. There are plenty of great A&M folks around, but there are way too many that come at you with that “holier than thou” outrage. Having lived in Texas for a while, and having dealt with the inferiority complex from far too many A&M officers in the Army (not all, of course), it’s just better to disengage when you start getting this faux outage and pearl-clutching.

Those were boos due to the typical lay downs to slow down the game. That's what people expected because it happens a lot on first downs. Now, I think it's quite ironic that the LB who ill-advisedly tried to take out our QB got taken out himself.
But, nobody (except for a handful of possible imbeciles) was booing a TRULY injured player. Just stop.

Watched on TV also and agree about the appearance, especially in the white section. Looked like there were a lot of maroon shirts there.
On tv you can only see one side of the field, that being the side with the visiting section. The rest of the stadium was pretty much all orange and white.

48? Add almost a decade to that. And what does his age have to do with anything? Your comment reeks of ageism and we don't welcome hate and intolerance around here.

A&M fans are easily the friendliest SEC fans I've encountered. In 2016 they were awesome down there and the ones I spoke to this weekend were great and enjoyed their trip to Knoxville with the exception of the game.
Ageism 😭... Lord, I hope that was blue font!

Yeah, it kinda sucked that they had a lot of seats on the east side of stadium outside their 2 zones. Upset that beautiful checkerboard a little.

FWIW with the injury talk and booing, while the injury ended up being real it still proves the point. That killed our drive dead in the water. We thrive on getting in a fast paced groove and once the wheels are rolling we generally march down the field. Yes, several players flop and kill drives. If you didn’t like it, don’t come back I guess. Lol

Oh, it was no flop. He got wasted by a QB and will be watching from the sidelines for a few weeks. 😳

You hit the nail on the head! Over my years in Texas, I have become acquainted with far too many holier-than-thou, entitled A&M “Karens” like this individual to ever like A&M. It ruins it because there are a lot of good folks from there, but people like this person are the absolute worst . . . and they are NOT a rare phenomena. Quite common, actually. They want to cure you on how “classless” you are despite being told about sixty different times that you don’t care what she thinks,

I remember a few years ago on our first trip to College Station that TN fans reported that the A&M fan base, were the best they had ever encountered. They said the A&M fans invited TN fans to come join them at their tailgating parties, etc. on the walk to the stadium.
This is fact. We were invited to an Aggie tailgate, fed and treated as if we were their fans. We were in all orange. It was almost off putting to be treated so well. We were invited by many that we walked past to share beer and whiskey. We obliged

You obviously have no clue what you are talking about. The yell leaders are a long time tradition that began when A&M was an all male school and did not admit women until the 1970's. The yell leaders are members of the corps of cadets, another long standing tradition at A&M, so at the early years of football games there were no cheerleaders and the upperclassmen made the younger guys get on the field to provide the entertainment. They guys also went into the janitors closet and got overalls as a funny outfit and the tradition stands to this day. That's why they wear overalls but they also lead the yells that the A&M fans learn through multiple sources but primarily through a midnight yell practice the Friday night before a game. A yell practice was held in Knoxville on Friday night. So, instead of cheerleaders that you cannot hear and only sing Rocky Top, which is not the official fight song of UT, we have yell leaders. Those forest rangers you are talking about are members of the Corps of Cadets, they are NOT forest rangers. Those students become members of the military in all branches and should be respected. By the way, General Neyland attended Texas A&M before being called to West Point and he was a member of the Corps of Cadets. They are not spinning little white hankies, they are spinning another tradition which is the 12th man towel, just like UT fans have orange and white shakers. What doesn't do it for me or what I think is the strangest thing is the lack of hospitality from UT fans and even booing when an A&M player gets injured. Completely classless.
Dang man, take it easy. I don't think the OP was attacking TAM. He just shared what his thoughts were. You could have worded this WAY better. I appreciate the knowledge because I did not know this either. Yikes, please do not beat up your spouse later for sharing their thought's...

As I’ve advised a few others on this thread, don’t bother engaging with this person. She/he is the example of what ruins it for the other decent A&M folks. Won’t hesitate to tell you how classless your entire fanbase is simply because you didn’t show sufficient deference to whatever obscure ‘tradition’ they want to shove in your face. Also won’t shut-up with the holier-than-thou lecturing even when you make it clear that you are uninterested in what he/she thinks. It’s too bad because there are some really decent Aggie fans out there, but people like this are far from rare. Living in Central Texas brings me into contact with far too many of them.

I am an A&M fan and had the exact opposite experience yesterday. Not invited into one tailgate and when I stopped to talk to a couple of Aggies at a tailgate, I was told to leave because it was a private tailgate and I was not on the guest list. Talk about lack of hospitality and just plain rude! I will never encourage any visiting team fan to go to Neyland. The loss, I expected due to our coach and other factors but I did not expect to be treated like dirt.

Mostly had good experiences with interacting with their fans. They were really polite. Had one guy get a little salty on the Vol fans booing when a player went down but that’s understandable.
