I like that the fans are just right on top of the field. It’s a cozy home that feels good to me, and when it’s packed like last night, it’s a great environment. Obviously, being able to have more seats and a few other amenities would be awesome, too. What do you like most about the game experience at LNS? What do you dislike or would like to improve?
I think the renovations will solve the increase in restrooms and concessions. They could really increase apparel and merchandise sells. I prefer the DJ playing music between innings.
MVP room.. Only for big donors or people in MVP seats. Free food and drinks, upgraded restroom.I've never been to a game there. When I watch on TV from the centerfield camera, there is all this foot traffic right behind home plate with people constantly going to and fro up and down steps to some glass doors right in line with and behind home plate. It is very distracting to the viewer and gives the impression that the stadium is fly-by-nite and not really designed properly. Must be distracting to pitchers. So what is the reason for all that foot traffic right behind home plate? Is it concessions behind those doors? I hope the new stadium doesn't have that feature.
I think the way the seats are pitched at a relatively steep angle contributes to the intimate feel of the place. The fans are literally "on top" of the field, which contributes to the oppressive vibe visiting teams experience when they come here. When they do renovations, I hope they are able to keep this feature.
The turf coincides with our turnaround. The turf isn’t the sole reason, obviously we have better coaching and players, but it’s allowed us more outdoor practices and getting early games in, in the slop of winter that otherwise would’ve been cancelled/postponed or forced inside to practice. Turf needs to stay.Would you guys like to keep the turf, or would you prefer we switch to grass? If I was a player, I don't think I would like the artificial turf.
I definitely am a purist and love grass fields BUT I think it’s almost a must for collegiate teams for the reasons you stated. Plus…I think…less ground crew/agronomics. Basically, behind home plate is the main entrance into the stadium. Keep in mind, there’s 4,000+ at each game. In years past, about 1,000 at each game.I've never been to a game there. I sense it coming too. Already do to a point. Last years games had better weather but there were very few season tickets. If it meant enough to you to come early (post Covid) you could generally get in. The blue collar fans were rowdier and louder. It paved the way for the big pockets to roll in here this year. There were empties behind me Friday night in A. Always empties behind home plate. The renovations need to be done and they will be. I do think you lose something in the crowd when the man who sits and thinks about work at the game replaces the man who though about the game all day at work. Don’t get me wrong things are pretty damn good over there as far as the crowd goes but I do notice a little change from late last season.Absolutely agree.
Expand a little, but keep it where there’s a demand and it feels wild.
One thing I know that’s no longer a possibility but I wish it was is sort of “normals” porches. Bristol cooler rules, only sold to the 300-500 season ticket holders on a one game basis. Get in their and live it up for your one shot. Or something like that, I’m just spitballing here.
My main concern with the refurb is it going too corporate. Absolutely sucks the life out of a place…
The only other answer for fall-line/northern teams is move the season start back a month or so. Our situation isn’t nearly as dire as Iona’s but I hurt for those kids when it was said that they had had 1 hr of outdoor practice prior to the start of the season. You just can’t replicate the nuances of a game and weather impacts indoors.I definitely am a purist and love grass fields BUT I think it’s almost a must for collegiate teams for the reasons you stated. It does. I can’t lie, it took me a LONG time to accept it. Carpet infield is something hard to wrap my mind around. I do wish the brown looked more like dry dirt instead of wet dirt. It’s just too dark same as Vandy. Surely they have a more natural looking color they make? The turf coincides with our turnaround. agree! Ask UF how their new stadium is working out!?!? Their #’s are decent but there is ZERO atmosphere! Looks like great example of poor design.Absolutely agree.

I love baseball and appreciate how quaint LNS is and the fans proximity to the field. It’s such an easy event to attend compared to football and basketball—-easy and close parking, and easy in/out before and after the games.
LNS needs to add seating down 3rd base line to match seating down 1B line, improve the entrance, renovate restrooms, and provide whatever amenities and improvements CTV wants for the players and stadium. In CTV I trust...
Vanderbilt had an issue that UT will share. How will people see the scoreboard. I believe Vandy installed a scoreboard in left field
