"Drink rails" That was the term my tired brain was looking for on prior post
Student section 3 tiered drink rails
Drink rails and stripper polls

Which sounds far fetched until you realize the games used to have “Tanlines on the Baselines” student promotion when I was a student

Other LIKES about Vols Baseball or LNS:
  1. Ushers and concessions staff are courteous, friendly, and kind.
  2. Best value on campus (albeit not on secondary market)
  3. Most entertaining, accessible team on campus imho
  4. Relaxed environment without all of the super loud music and flashing lights (they let the game remain the primary focus and source of entertainment)

What's the guy's name (smaller guy, wears glasses) that scans tickets? It escapes me at the moment.

I love that guy. I've went to him every game out of superstition and he's always a saint.

I also like the fact that with the exception of one or two occasional substitutes that still think they're in TBA/Neyland, most of the usher staff is super relaxed. They help people find open seats if they have to move, don't fuss over little things, and generally keep things light.

I know exactly who you’re talking about. He’s very welcoming and I make a point to say hi to him. Great people and staff at LNS for sure.

The tan lines on the baselines promotion is hilarious! Is that really true or are you pulling our legs?

It was legit. Not sure if it continued through to new LNS but it definitely ongoing at Lower Hudson. Think it was a two part thing. Before and after spring break

Makes me remember the "Chicks In Spandex" promo thing the volleyball team did on the UC patio when I was there (early 2000s).

Admittedly, it worked.

At the front gate on the far left I always go through Rodney’s line. Lisa is the bag checker there. I talk to them both. Great folks.

Rodney! I had it right on the tip of my tongue. It was driving me nuts, I'll have a much more relaxing afternoon now.

Lisa I definitely remembered. I see her everywhere. They are both excellent. I've emailed some of the fan experience people at UT about them to let them know how much they add a visit to LNS.

The fact that some unnamed members of the usher staff have looked the other way when I bring a small caffeine free coke into midweek games (gotta get up at 430am for work, and Sprite ain't my thing), also makes me love them even more.

I always try to be nice to people, and I’ve gone through Rodney‘s line for years. And I think, like you mentioned, being decent to people helps.

A handful of years ago at the end of the Serrano era, UT had a really nice ball cap giveaway. I went in with two paper tickets so I could get a cap for each of my kids. They marked both tickets, but the person giving out the caps said he wouldn’t give me two caps, despite having both of my tickets marked so they couldn’t be used again.

A nice usher, who has since retired, who knew I had two kids and that I would be getting the caps for my kids, told the person that denied me the second cap that the second cap was going to be for him (the usher) so give to him. The second cap was handed to the usher, and he turned and gave it to me. At the next game both my kids were there wearing their hats and we made a point to thank the usher.

Great story. Warms my heart to hear that.

That's the way it should be. Good stuff.

It was a lot hotter than I was expecting on Sunday. I am a scalded dog. Beet red. I wonder if it zapped the crowd a little? Felt like the team needed a push from us at times and things weren’t quite up to standard. Did anyone else feel that way or am I imagining things?

Right before the UGA 5 run inning I had to get up. I stupidly wore a black Vol Baseball shirt and was being dry roasted. I got the last order of rolled ice cream at the Knox Dough foodtruck.

I think the fact that we had won series and won SEC championship caused a lack of participation. It was crazy how our fans left in the 7th-8th like the plaque was coming. Almost embarrassing. On Saturday, I had to move at one point because I thought I had my phone reading NegaVols messages off of here. People were trashing our coaches and players, not mine. Couldn't take any more. Had to go take a break before I said anything I would regret.

I'm not going to pretend I've never left a sporting event early but, my goodness, it was nuts at the end of the 7th. It seemed like half the stadium left.

People were trashing the coaches and players of a 45-7 SEC Championship team that is virtually a lock to be the #1 overall seed? Embarrassing. I love the passion of Vol Nation but we have some truly stupid fans.

Takes more than having a few good years in baseball to educate a fan base. One of the highest baseball IQ fan bases I can think of is the MLB Cardinals. How nice would that be?

I hope they add more seating for NCAA and Super regionals coming up, possible another set of bleachers could fit down the third base line if you scooted the ones there over some. Also hope they do another street party outside. Lets get 15,000+ people all over in that area and party.

Yeah, some of them were stupidly rough.

They really aren't gonna like it if we rest and experiment these last 4 games. The hay is quite literally in the barn, I'm not sure what there is to freak out over.

LNS baseball fans and Lindsey’s Legends are apparently vastly different groups.
