I don't get Titans fans, for one I am not sure why you all care so much about why certain fans are fans of a team. What does it matter to you? Not that I care what any of you think but I can guarantee I will be a Colts fan no matter what, if Luck is a bust or if they decided to trade the pick it does not matter to me. I am a Colts fan, not a fan of any certain player. I know the next few years could be painful but I will be wearing my Colts gear around Middle Tennessee no matter what.

And like I have said many times, I know some on here are fans of the Colts just because of Peyton but what's the difference in that and being a fan of a team just because they play in the same state in which you live? And it's not like they have been here for a very long time.

Titans fans aren't the only fans that feel that way. There are fans of every team, all over the country that don't respect jumping from team to team. If you started out a 49ers/Montana/Young/Rice fan, switched to the Patriots/Tom Brady and then switched to the Saints/Brees etc. You've now watched "your team(s)", all three of them, win the Super Bowl. How would that be meaningful? That would defeat the purpose for most fans.
'
And question, you ask why I or any other fan should care, why not? Why should anyone care about sports at all? They're just meaningless games that we take seriously enough to spend time and money on just to watch. We enjoy sports so much we can sit here and waste time talking about it. In the end, the only gratification I get is watching them win. If I care enough to waste time and money on a pointless hobby, there is no reason to question why someone would dislike bandwagon fans. It's part of the territory that goes along with caring about a game at all. Someone obviously cared enough about bandwagon fans to create the term. It's not just Titan fans that dislike bandwagon fans. It's every single fan who spends 20+ years cheering for the same team.

except that titans fans are the only ones trying to discredit Colts fans. The reason is obvious but it's pretty sad. Pro sports fandom is more random than anything else. It can come from a uniform color, a certain player or just a zip code. I am a fan of multiple NFL teams for different reasons.

Also, how many titans fans have been cheering for their team for 20+ years?

And for the last part. There are a few differences... one, they can now attend the games regularly. two, they were still fans after Steve McNair, Eddie George, Derrick Mason, Keitch Bulluck, Jeff Fisger etc. left. I actually was an Oilers fan prior to them moving to Tennessee but at the end of the day, most of the new Titans fans will be Titans fans as long as they watch the NFL. It beats following around one guy and having 10 different favorites. There are already Lakers fans switching to the Clippers. Wait until Kobe retires and the Lakers are bad.

I get frustrated with people that jump around from team to team depending on who is winning also. But that's not really the same thing, I get that most on here are on Colts fans due to Peyton but I don't see that any differently than you all being Titans fans just because they play in the state of Tennessee. On this board, I only see Titans fans upset about why Colts fans are fans.

20+ years? I didn't realize we had that many fans that were Oilers fans here.

If someone lives in Memphis or East Tennessee it's about the same drive from there to Nashville as it is from Nashville to Indy, so that argument doesn't mean much. I have been a fan through Mora, Dungy and Caldwell left as coaches and there have been some pretty big time players come through Indy also Harrison, Glenn, Edge etc. and most have remained fans also and not to mention Peyton is all but gone as a Colt, so anyone still saying they are a fan is not because of Peyton.

completely silly ignorance referring to them as the oilers just because they've changed location

If only nobody ever cheered for a team after they re-located. What a wonderful league it would be!

It gets soooo annoying.

About as annoying as a certain group of fans so worried about why some are fans of the Colts.

Well, I personally am more annoyed by Colts fans who are not honest with themselves. Not to name any names, VFJ. Don't let your pride get in the way, VFJ. Just admit you don't actually want to follow the colts if they're bad, VFJ.

Haha, well think what ever you want, I really couldn't care less. Next season will probably be rough and I will be as much of a fan as I was during the SB run. At 2-14 and without Peyton I was as big of a fan as you could find. At 0-12 I was wearing my Wayne jersey every Sunday.

Met him, BTW. He was so cool. It was like 2 months after their SB XLI victory. He was still jacked about it. LOL at cell phone camera quality.

I've always liked the Colts. If Peyton leaves I'll follow him. Prior to him being drafted, I was a Redskin fan.
Would rather see him stay. What other team can afford him?

At this point, most teams.

You're acting like the Colts are the Yankees of the NFL. You may go back to being a Redskins fan, lol.

Would you feel any different toward them if you had lived in Nashville since they arrived? I see what you're saying but for me, I live 10 minutes away from LP field and they're the team talked about on sports radio and local news here. I guess it's a matter of convenience to be a fan of the team down the street, same with the Preds. If I lived in east or west Tennessee I might feel differently but it's been almost 15 years now so I feel I have become a true fan of the team.

only reason you chose them is that they were close by? Not really different than anyone else's reasons for picking an NFL team.

I agree that anyone can pull for who they want. I don't expect my reason to be any better or worse that anyone else. I'm just saying why I became a fan and wondered if it would be different for someone had they lived in Nashville and been around them or if that makes no difference. I wasn't really a fan of any team when they arrived so that probably helped, in my case, to jump on the Titans bandwagon.
