Those are all proven guys.
But Steele was here before Heupel- Who is the Head Coach.

There are better guys than Steele that aren't linked to the stale azz circle of Fulmer.

I wouldn't appreciate someone pushing on me a person that was responsible for 1/3 of my on field success. Heupel is the head coach. It's his decision to make. And its not like he is some rookie.

How can you compare UCF recruiting to the SEC? Two totally different circumstances...

I'll bet you $500 dollars Heupel gets UT to a Bowl Next year with Pruitt's "foundation "

I just hope Plowman takes what ever collateral information in the investigation to the NCAA. There needs to be radical changes in the operations of college football recruiting. Especially in the SEC.

This is just the strangest thing. 247 says he transferred here on January 17th, most Oklahoma insiders think he ends up there, Auburn fans think he comes back. I'm just trying to figure out where he is right now. Did he enroll at UT already? It's February so we're past any kind of add/drop date.

Butch Jones recruited great here @ TN.. So is he gonna recruit in the top 10 @ Arkansas St? LOL..Comparing ones recruiting at UCF and how they can recruit @ TN is comparing apples to oranges...

+1 to a degree the school will recruit itself. Makes no difference to have all of the talent in the world if it's wasted. Competent coaching will be key moving forward

There is no consensus except the laughter by other schools that saw what she did and said. Look at NO point do you go to the NCAA and tell on yourself in modern times. Nor do you do a presser ad say the things she did. This is the problem with UT. So midmajor and dollar store cheap, and tasty long as they continue to be this way they will continue this downward spiral.

In basketball you have teams that are caught red handed and they all generate big money like UT does in football. So when the investigations cm down they especially LSU said stfu and get off my campus to the NCAA. The NCAA is a joke and does nothing anymore but sit and look cute. The NCAA is afraid the P5 schools are close to a revolt and starting their own entity. His is why you can’t have a Chancellor who is not used to big time athletics. Do you think the NCAA doesn’t know that tOSU players lot looks much like an NFL players car lot? Do you think the NCAA doesn’t see that most Bama players drive new Dodge SRTs etc or G-Wagons or S550 when their stock rises to star status. Please ppl wake up nobody is afraid of the faux big bad wolf once known as the NCAA and does the bush league bs she did on TV.

Last everyone pays big money for recruits especially those that want to win in recruiting and on game day. This is not rocket science. Kids are not beating down a door to come here that have elite offers. You have to pay to pay big to build the foundation and then it lightens up. People acting like this is such a heinous act are simply naive as hell. Fulmer and Co did it, Bama, Clemson, tOSU, Auburn, UGA, Oklahoma, USC, Oregon, Fla, etc all do this. But the administration never gets in the way of what has to be done and get on the same page. This makes everyone’s job easier in administration because athletics funds the university and attracts an influx of student interest, etc.

You have a distorted view of reality.
1) possible violations were reported to her. Not opening an investigation could be cause for her losing her job if found out later.
2) investigation was leaked to the press. This further hampered her ability to keep the investigation quiet.
3) Working and cooperating with the NCAA will likely reduce the severity of NCAA penalties at a later date.
4) There is no way the NCAA would have not learned of the violations once it was leaked to the press. Without a doubt the Administration handled this about as well as anyone could under the circumstances noted above.

Look it’s not about CJP. It’s about recruiting and he knew how to get it done. You have to have an administration that is on the same page with the athletic department and knows what it takes to be big time. Last time I checked the Dbs could cover and will have a top 3-4 rd pick. They recruited well there too. In 2 classes he brought in guys who learned a new system and were growing. The place where many of you have no common sense that was the major area of need was DL. You LBs and Dbs only benefit from the pressure up front. It’s hard to have a successful defense without a aggressive and tenacious DL. The lack of reputation throughout the Dooley, Butch eras haltered UT success of DL recruiting specifically Butch. Talking to players once CJP and Rocker and Rumph got to Knoxville they were coached unlike no other time in their years at UT. Kyle, DT, and Shy all said the things they learned all showed up once they got in the NFL. None of the information was given prior to this other than the drills but it was expanded upon when CJP and staff showed up. I don’t take ppl judging the covid season as a baseline serious at all.
