Sounds good but at some point someone has to be an ace recruiter. He couldn’t recruit at UCF and also couldn’t stop anyone down there either. Steele’s defensive staff of himself, Gardner, and Williams would all be better recruiters than anyone hired to date.

T Will is already in Coral Gables. Doubt he's coming regardless of Steele potentially getting DC.

I agree that we need some SEC pedigree on this staff for recruiting.

I’m not sure what you e been watching but nobody is beating down the door to come to UT. You have to build a foundation. He only had 2 classes and was in a good place before the **** show occurred. Nobody is coming to a place of mediocrity and immediately recruiting like CJP did. Kids come because they get paid and know a coach’s reputation based on where they’ve been. This coach has no recruiting or coaching reputation nor the relationships of either Botch or CJP in coaching circles. Ppl knock Botch for following Kelly and he actually won. Heupel lost games once Frost players were gone and ppl here are content or optimistic here LOL but we’ll see

And many of the players felt things were worse after the technician left. CJP wanted a better recruiter thus why Ansley was brought here. Notice the difference in db play between the change. I hv 2 kids who play in the secondary who work out with our company.

I’m not gonna ride de1 too hard, he has a personal attachment to some of these kids.
I do agree that it would be smart to have some recruiting presence on this staff and would probably be really smart to announce some staff, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
I getting very tired of “our” coaches wanting to do the right thing to their previous schools. Who cares, you are now employed by the University of Tennessee, I couldn’t care less about Alabama or UCF. I don’t want coaches sticking around to help their previous school recruit or win championships anymore.

This should be a easy solution for the dummies at UT, but they're making 2+2 a hard equation. Steele has kids ready to cm to UT and will have an elite recruiting staff something Heupel knows nothing about. Big Cat and like 3 others were set to be Vols and then the most embarrassing press conference ever happened and now the HC is trying to mk this rocket science. With Steele, Gardner, and T. Will you can likely kp your players on defense and fix the minute issues on the back end by having elite pass rush guys come in. Some of the stuff that is going on currently is baffling.

I have to agree here on UT making this too complicated... They thought enough of Steele to bring him in the first place, but now he's not good enough to be DC? We desperately need SEC stability and recruiting on defense and that is what Steele and Garner would bring. I understand JH is the deciding factor and the Admin can't force coaches on him, but this is just too easy of a fix... Unless JH has a DC and support staff in the bag with SEC ties, experience, and recruiting, he'd be crazy and rolling a large set of dice to bring in newbies on the D side of the ball as well...

Heupel easily could have only had one loss each of last two seasons if you take the time to actually look at the games lost. They had leads into 4th Qtr and QB turnovers costs one game and then a missed FG on finally play vs Memphis lost the other. He only has one double digit loss in career. The rest were one possession. In 2019 the 3 losses were a combined 7 pts. Please stop acting like the guy is a totally bafoon because you don’t know him. We should all give him a shot and see what he could do but you clearly plan to judge him and hurt him bc of Pruitt loyalty.

Why keep blaming Plowman? It’s the job of everyone underneath her to control those things and keep them off her desk so she can’t see it. This was all done by boosters who wanted a shift in power control. They backed Plowman into a corner and put allegations and receipts all in front of her face where she no longer had a way to deny knowing. Anyone would do the same as at that point it was about damage control and how to control the narrative and do best to lessen the damage by punishing ourselves. She had no choice. Blame the guy that runs around this board bragging about paying players then when he didn’t like Pruitt and Fulmer anymore he jammed the knife in the back

Also as for Steele I do believes it’s a no brainer football wise but I think JH has to make the right choice that he is comfortable with on that side of the ball as he wants them to control thst side. We need to see who he is talking to outside of Steele to really know if it’s stupid or not. Maybe he wants to see if he can do any better and knows he has a fall back.

Blaming Plowman is a conflict of interest. Hopefully, she will set a standard for the SEC and the NCAA. Someone needs to expose the system and these privileged athletes. I would never call them student athletes. Most of them have their education handed to them.

You just complained about people only giving Pruitt 2 classes yet you mentioned Heupel recruiting at UCF which is about two classes? Lol. That's rich.
