Aubrey Huff Banned From Giants Reunion

Yep. Most baseball, basketball, and football players are choir boys.

Well yeah. You were going for sarcasm but taken at face value, your comment is accurate. Just like non-athletes, most athletes are decent people. Most athletes do not have reputations for being drugged out jerks.

Yet their teammates still accept them.

Why does he invoke the 1A when the Giants aren't a government organization.

It's a dumb move on their part but to martyr himself as some champion for the 1A is beyond retarded.

Pretty sure the Giants Organization invoked the 1A when they persecuted him for his freedom of speech to support Trump if he so chooses.

He was part of the club, he should be invited back. If they don't like his politics, then don't talk politics with him. In the end, it's about civility, and the team is being uncivil.

It's not so much that he ideologically supports Trump. It's more that Trump supporters seem to be enveloped by a fog of stench that permeates entire rooms and even many open spaces. I'm sure if he were to show up it would spoil food, drink and festivities for everyone else.

Funny you say when the Trump haters in this city allow people to s**t and piss all over the place.

That's not how it works but ok lol.

So, how does it work. the way you present it he martyrs himself for invoking the 1A for being uninvited for his political support of Trump. and that is wrong as you say. But, it's OK that they invoke the 1A to ban him.

Is complete BS. But, freedom of a speech means , he will not be arrested.. but, not freedom of consequence.

Like you can be fired for saying things, but wont be arrested..

Would love to see how it played out if p.k subban was told he couldn't attend something similar , because he favored "x" candidate.

1A only has to do with government persecution. It is in no way applicable to this situation for either the Giants or Huff.

Oh. So, there is in reality, no right to freedom of speech? Other than when it is applicable to government suppression?

Which means we can be like Antifa and beat the s*** out of you wackos for having opinions and beliefs and expressing them, because they aren't like mine. And we would be right to do so cause you have no freedom of speech aside from applicable government scenarios.

So would it be acceptable for employers to start firing people that vote a certain way?

Of course it would be. According to him, the 1A is only an assurance against the Gov limiting your speech and freedoms. Violating civil liberties is just peachy keen if it is not a federal institution.

I said that because there are laws that prevent discrimination in the workplace. Being persecuted for political beliefs would fall under this protection.

Your posts are so bad it's worrisome.

I'm aware. I was hoping you'd see that that was not a serious post I made.

Well seeing how a vote is private that would be tough to do. But they absolutely could fire you for espousing your beliefs.

How's that? You can't clarify, so you just deflect off my hypothetic conjecture. Well, Antifa really does that, so maybe not a good hypothetical.

What is it then? Do we only have freedom of speech when it pertains to government oppression? Isn't that what @volfanhill said in post #39?

In the real world, he is no longer an employee of the Giants organization, so they are not legally discriminating against him for uninviting him. But, it is bad form to do so for political beliefs when only celebrating a championship team. and they are setting a bad tone for the organization. What if their ace pitcher supported Trump. would they trade him?

That is true. We were not to engage or initiate political or religious conversation in the work place. Part of our orientation at that company.

So if you came out as homosexual you could be fired? If you’re a guy and decided you wanted to be identified as a woman you could fired? If you’re employer found out you were atheist or a Muslim you could be fired?
