That was actually the point I was getting too. This is a dirty, dirty situation down there and this Cam Newton deal is honestly a very small piece of the puzzle.

It is but this is being made the most public part of the whole ordeal. I believe that there is definitely more that will be brought to the surface in the future the will be big trouble for the barners.

I dont know what's going on with Auburns side, I have'nt heard of any proof that money switched hands or money was even discussed with Auburn & the Newtons. IMO what will get the Newtons is if they can prove Cecil Newton tried to get money for his son from MSU.

Bell also said he has recordings of several voice mail messages from Rogers, which he played for NCAA investigators.

"[Cecil Newton] didn't come out and say, 'I want $180,000,'" Bell said. "He inferred it and talked about it, but not directly. Kenny would talk about it in front of him, and [Cecil Newton] never corrected him or said, 'No, that's not what we're doing.'"

If those recordings truly exist & the NCAA can prove Newton wanted money from MSU for Cam then that means Cameron Newton is an ineligible student athlete. The NCAA would consider Cecil Newton an "agent". Which means Auburn has been playing with an ineligible player & therefore would have to forfiet every game Cam played in & Cam would also have to forfiet any award given to him. If Auburn was told by the NCAA that Cam is ineligible & they continue to play him then thats when it could get interesting with Auburn & the NCAA. Until I see proof of anything happening between Cecil Newton & Auburn I'm going to hold off on judgement with that.

the FBI has been involved for days now. what proof is there?

I don't think that the real story is that the FBI is involved. I think it is remarkable how quickly the story broke and it was confirmed they were investigating it. Sounds like the rumor is true that they stumbled on this info on the Newtons while looking at other areas of investigation. Either way can Auburn fans should scared to death. This is bad.

or maybe they wont find enough to do anything. just like the big fish is a big joke.

Apparently something shady been going on if they stumbled upon the Newtons while investigating the Big wigs, Know that Basilio is usually wrong but believe that this is not a joke, this time.

IF there is anything to this it may have to wait until the federal case is prosecuted. The FBI isn't going to share information with a ragtag operation like the NCAA while a case is still being pursued, JMO.

These scumbags were involved in corruption, bribery, money laundering, and several other charges that carry stiff penalties. What are the chances they actually played by the rules as far as football? Having that kind of scum involved in your athletic program is never a good idea.

After reading the blog on tigerdroppings, I wonder if other teams would be taking a risk by recruiting players committed to Auburn.

innocent until proven guilty.

You don't need proof, you simply need to know who Bobby Lowder is. His dealings and string pulling go back long before this situation ever arose. I'd say without reservation, he's the most influential booster in college sports history. He single-handedly controls that university and athletic department and WILL single-handedly destroy that university, before its all said and done.
