Not to get all mathematical on you, but what is a majority of 12? And Hyams, who you are quoting from the article, didn't name names, nor does he mention the big 10, nor is he even right about the number of SEC coaches.

First, a majority is more than half, and 6 is more than half of 11 (number of SEC schools minus Bama).

Second, he did mention the Big 10 in that article:

Although other SEC and Big Ten coaches spoke to the NCAA about their suspicions, the attorneys for former Tide coaches Ronnie Cottrell and Ivy Williams turned their primary attention to Fulmer.

However,

Third, I completely agree that Hyams is a terrible source...

I made the mistake of assuming that since you could write, you could also read.

I never said that Hyams mentioned the Big Ten, English said that.

You said TN was the only one to snitch you out, which is just not true.

If it wasn't 5 or 6 coaches, how many were there?

I guess I should take your word over the people that write for a living.

How much do you want to wager that Tennessee football escapes with no majors? The violations will follow Kiffin.

Pearl? Come on...he has cheated so much less than Calhoun. Lying is a major, but the reason he lied was to cover up a secondary. Icarus and. Pearl were dashed to the ground by hubris

Started a lot of wars too. Cover ups say as much about the character, or lack thereof, as any reprehensible act perpetrated against the NCAA rule book.

Watch Tressel do the slow death as the spin continues out of Columbus. Tressel and University leaders continue to show they really ain't that sorry.

The fact that Pearl snitched on fellow coaches, shows his working knowledge of the rule book. If you're going to make yourself the poster child for the cover, you better put up. The NCAA takes a dim view of trying to have it both ways.

I will take your word on the matter. Your vast experience with the NCAA Infractions Committee makes you guys the experts on their inner workings in regards to how they view violations.

Solid.

Funny, lets whine about getting turned in, meanwhile shying away from what you had to do to be turned in, cheating. You'd think this was the politics forum with all the dodging.

Solid, as well.

These bammers sound worse than Nixon trying to convince the nation that he is not a crook. Very entertaining.

I guess I should take your word over the people that write for a living.

I know a lot of lawyers, and Hyams just happened to be incorrect in the statement he made in the article.

3 SEC coaches and a Big 10 coach contacted the NCAA about potential violations committed by Alabama re: Albert Means.

Only 1 SEC coach actually participated in the NCAA's investigation. And even then, he isn't mentioned by name in the NCAA's findings as he appeared as a secret witness. It's possible, although I don't know how likely, that the information that coach provided sealed Alabama's fate. The reporting that the other 3 coaches did was essentially repeating what they'd heard, but had no proof of. The participating coach provided proof after going to look for it.

All that being said, I'm under no delusion that Albert Means wasn't paid to come to Alabama.

According to the original instigator, Jeff Lee of auburnsports.com, Brent Calloway was simply advised, or perhaps even strongarmed, into going to Alabama. The article he posted today says nothing about mortgage payments, cars, or pay-to-play.

Jeffery Lee had promised to drop the bombshell on Bama fans everywhere by finally telling the football world the source of his numerous allegations against Alabama in the Brent Calloway recruitment.

They call it the "idiots all in" machine. Give her another pull there, Jeff.

This is picking up some momentum.

It is?

I would think going from free cars, mortgage payments, and pay-for-play to family and friends strongly pushing the kid to go to Alabama would be the exact opposite of "picking up momentum".

Cecil strongly pushed Cam to go to Auburn as well. We all know what happened there.

Calloway, Winston, and Woodruff (the family friend) all gave interviews today where they completely destroy Lee's story.

Calloway's high school coach, Doug Goodwin, was relied upon heavily by Lee. Calloway painted him as a liar and fanatic who told Calloway that he'd get in trouble if Calloway signed with Bama. Calloway also said that AU's coaches lied to him about playing running back.

Amusing how so many Alabama fans are still so butthurt about somebody "snitching" on them when cheating has been an institutional way of life down there. They sound like my sister's five year old kid screaming while he's sitting in timeout.
