I will be very surprised if this all works out well for Auburn. I hope they get it together and can keep bama pissed off, but I just can't see it happening from this hire.

Malzahn will be fine at Auburn.

Saban offered him the gig post-Applewhite for a good reason.

The rising Seniors at Auburn are going to make great coaches in the future. They will have seen about 5 different offenses during their college careers.

I believe the same could be said of the Jason Campbell, Cadillac, Ronnie Brown class.

What is it with this guy? He went from Springdale HS to be OC at Arky (with a ticket from Mitch Mustain)and after one season CHN canned him. This year he was at Tulsa with an outstanding offense against D3 competition. He wasn't even the OC at Tulsa...he was "Co-OC"...and now he has found his way to Auburn as OC. I say over-hyped and Chizik will be short lived.

Aug. 30 at UAB W 45-22
Sep. 6 at North Texas W 56-26
Sep. 20 New Mexico W 56-14
Sep. 27 Central Ark W 62-34
Oct. 4 Rice W 63-28
Oct. 11 at SMU W 37-31
Oct. 18 Texas-El Paso W 77-35
Oct. 26 UCF W 49-19
Nov. 1 at Arkansas L 23-30
Nov. 15 at Houston L 30-70
Nov. 22 Tulane W 56-7
Nov. 29 at Marshall W 38-35
Dec. 6 East Carolina L 24-27

Not much of a resume to play with the big boys!

He lead the nation at Tulsa in Offense the last two years
He was also 8-0 with Mustain as a freshmen QB his first year at Arkansas
He should also get the credit David Lee's getting at Miami, for the wildcat package
Malzhan installed it at Arky, and David Lee's now using to help complete an absolutly amazing turn around in one year for the Dolphins

I'm not sure about Malzahn either. I think Nutt is a pretty decent coach and showed it this year at Ole Miss. So, how valuable was Malzahn? Hard to say. I tend to think he won't do as well and I agree with earlier post that said LSU and AUB will be looking for new coaches, although Chavis may extend Miles' career as he did for Fulmer's a few times. I'm still not sure Meyer's system is great without Tebow. Kinda look forward to see the 'ol Gators without him behind center.

I always assumed the wildcat was installed by Nutt.

One thing some are overlooking. Chizik should be advised to watch his back.

Chizik's back will be fine (Malzahn is nowhere near the bloodthirsty sac that he has been painted to be) and Malzahn installed the Wildcat at Arky due to the serious lack of receivers and the need to block the extra safety coming forward.

It's really not something you couldn't see by catching a local high school game. Creative of him to bring it into the SEC, where it hasn't existed for a few years, but it isn't like he invented it.
