Auburn recruits

Why do you think SC passed if he got a clean bill of health for an assistant coach? If true, do we really want an SC reject?

edited to add.... I like Beamer, and wish him qualified good luck.... still a little gun shy about assistant coach route, and still feel the pain of hoping that heredity would produce a winner......

Not familiar with South Carolina’s school president, are you?

Also if he got a clean bill of health for an assistant job, that really means nothing. Freeze isn’t gonna be an assistant somewhere.

South Carolina isn't that interested in Winning. After all they Hired MUSCHAMP! It doesn't matter what WE Want, Auburn has already hired Freeze. Freeze can beat bama. That's why AU will hire him. They LOATHE Bama's dominance in CFB. You think WE hate bama? Triple that hate and you have AU.

I have no basis for knowing what AU will do, but seems risky to add Freeze to Pearl. They will be watched, and a couple of missteps with Freeze would surely invite an institutional control hammer on them. I would think looking for a squeaky clean guy would be high on their list of things to do. But, you never know what boosters egos will produce.

Auburn has always vetted their coaching hires making sure they are fine with how Auburn recruits (cabin & bag men). They have done this ever since Baby Bowden was coach and would not go along with the plan. They ran him off and this was right after they were on probaltion and went undefeated Bowden's first year there.

It would be nice if he could start a thread like this and actually get some answers instead of negative responses from a bunch of cryasses who only use this board to vent.

No Auburn recruits want to come play for our dullard staff.

Alright. Let’s hear the explanation.
Freeze is incredibly overrated and lost a bunch of games even while cheating big time on the recruiting trail. He would be .600 or so here after 3 years and be run off even if he does stay out of trouble. Set a reminder for 2 years from now and we can revisit lol

I actually don’t disagree with you. I just needed someone else on record. He had some rough losses even when he beat Bama

He's just the flavor of the week, every year people select a new savior. Reality is you have to hope Pruitt is the coach we thought he was during that 8 game win streak, if he doesn't get to a minimum of 8 wins next year then you look at firing.

Zero. Auburn will hire a winner and no one wants to come play with a coach they know will be fired
Even if auburn hires a winner, it's like two days until early signing day. Some kids might jump ship and never look back.

It's possible. I agree with you. I'm just not sure there trust JP to be the long term coach for the Vols.

I'd love to have so much talent it makes up for coaching deficiencies

Heck not just Auburn recruits we should be trying to poach, but their coaches too. Rodney Garner is one of the best in the business, we need to offer him immediately if he doesn't get retained. Same with Travis Williams (their LB coach). Move Nieds back to TE, make Osovet the QB coach or something like that.

To say he is overrated is false IMO. He made Ole Miss relevant in the SECW which is not very easy when you look at how loaded that side of the conference is every year. HF directed Ole Miss to four consecutive bowl appearances in his first four years as HC (first to ever do that in Oxford). One of the bowl wins was a beatdown in the Sugar bowl of a top 15 team in Oklahoma state. Have you seen what he has done at Liberty this year? It is a lower tier school, but he can only play the games on the schedule (upset VA TECH). He would have many more resources to help him achieve success compared to Oxford if the Vols ever gave Freeze the opportunity to be the HC on the hill. It will probably never happen though.

I believe he is. For the record during that 8 games I thought he was the same as when we lost to Geo St.
I didn’t see anything remarkable about beating a bunch of below average teams

Jay Hardy not shown as getting any PT yet. Anyone know why? Perhaps he's ready to come back...

He's a true freshman and playing behind guys who waited until the 2 Pros left in Brown and the other kid who was a top prospect last yr from that Auburn defense

You don't think Auburn Fired Malzahn without the New Guy (FREEZE) already Hired?? Recruits will stick with Auburn, and some will jump on board ; Freeze is Instant Offense!!

They didn't have any already lined up but I was told they're going after Urban Meyer.

That is a lot of seeing what you want to see. He is a good coach. Nothing spectacular.
