When the supposed VFLs Cheek and Hart won't get by their personal pride to entertain the possible return of CBP despite the majority of the fan base, then I wouldn't blame him for going anywhere he wanted. You know that VFL thing is a two way street? Also, I couldn't blame him if he had a chance to rub the UT administration's collective noses in his shart if he had the chance too!

No one is going to confuse Cheek and Hart as being VFLs. They collect paychecks from UT and perform their jobs without any emotional attachment to the school or athletic program, be it right or wrong.

True VFLs wouldn't actively root for CCM to lose with the delusional hope that Bruce Pearl makes a triumphant return to UT.

True VFLs aren't as overtly concerned about Bruce Pearl as much as they are the University of Tennessee, and true VFLs can see that both can exist independent of each other.

But we have too many BFLs amongst our fanbase who claim to be VFLs.

Will it suck to see him coaching elsewhere? Sure it will, because it will be a reminder of what could have been. In the meantime, people need to get over the idea that he's coming back here until it happens.
I don't care where Bruce goes as long as Martin is gone from here.

I love it when someone uses the word 'delusional' and the incorrect version of 'too' in the same post.

Haha...hardly, but keep trying to convince yourself that I'm sold, all-in on Cuonzo Martin as our head coach for many years to come. You know better than that, but I'm not shocked it's your only defense, in spite of it's ridiculousness.

It's his go to

Which would be fine if it were remotely true, but he knows it isn't.

Right, and when questioned on it he runs away.

There's not one person who's gushing over Zo, thinks he's done no wrong, or thinks he's no doubt the coach of the future.

Every single one of the posters labeled as "Martin lovers" have criticized Martin at one time or another, and have all said if he missed the dance he should be gone (even though he may not be).

Yeah like there isnt alot of BFL......Bruce lovers....and pearlophile comments around here......

Its ridiculous both ways.

The difference is those are accurate. There's posters who are actually more in support of Bruce than Tennessee basketball. You won't find posters more in support of Martin than Tennessee basketball.

No its not.....alot of posters and it seems to gain more and more posters with every disappointing loss....believe in Bruce Pearl to bring UT basketball to the level that we all want.....No one trusts our administration to make a good hire when the time comes.

There has been quite a bit of defending going on and there was quite a bit of gushing going on up till this season started. It's hard to gush when we are not living up to expectations.

If Pearl did come here and struggle the gushing as u call it will stop.

To be fair, an objective party would see that this is the first year that Martin's Tennessee team's performance has been indefensible. No injuries, suspensions, etc, to speak of.

Consequently, we have faired better to this point than either of the previous two years, but not up to where we should be with our talent.

So there's no posters on here who are bigger Pearl supporters than Tennessee supporters? They aren't rooting for Tennessee to lose in hopes that it somehow would lead to Pearl returning to Tennessee?

I'm sure there are some that might want tennessee to lose bc they feel it will get CCM removed and Bruce Pearl is their choice to replace.....just like in football some were wanting Dooley to lose for the betterment of our program. I personally don't agree with this but I understand it.

To be fair, we are not wanting him to set the world on fire but to make a 68 team tournament.....yes we had Maymon's injury last yr but the main probably with that is the very poor bench Martin has recruited.....most are not SEC caliber players.

And they're slobbering over grabbing another in a different thread.
When did the program become TN Upstate?
