Austin Nichols official visit rumors...

I just don't think he's made his decision yet.

I'll go Leroy and give percentages as to how I feel with Nichols...

85% VOL
10% DUKE
2% MEMPHIS
2% VANDY
.5% AUBURN
.5% VIRGINIA

My belief is Tennessee or Duke, but with Duke at a higher percentage than you have them. I think Dad likes the potential opportunities from a Duke degree. I think Mom likes Tennessee. Austin will be the tiebreaker.

I don't know what it means if anything, but after reading this

Duke Sports Blog – Austin Nichols Fading? Jabari Parker Comes to Town

I thought I'd check out the Duke and Memphis boards. Duke is starting to whine and talk about how something must be wrong if they can't pull a player they really want away from UT. Memphis is starting to fight among themselves, calling each other trolls. TIFWIW

Mom favors Memphis IMO.

I will be shocked if it's not UT, and I'd also be surprised if he doesn't already have a pretty good idea where he's going.

I think he likes Duke, dad and the rest of family like duke, but at the end of the day it's a bit further than he really wants to be.

I think he also likes Memphis, mom definitely does and I'm sure the family would like to have him that close to home. However, immediate playing time is something he's looking for and it's unlikely he'll be promised that at Memphis.

Tennessee really has no negative aspect to it in regards to what Austin and family has said is important to him. They're close enough to home that the family can make the trip for games. His twin sister who he's very close to is here and the family could "kill 2 birds with one stone" when visiting Knoxville. A lot of his very good friends are here at Tennessee as well, and he's really expressed interest in getting back to school with them. And maybe a couple of the most important factors...Martin has shown a committed interest in Nichols and made him a priority since he was hired at Tennessee, that doesn't always work, but we saw what it did with Hubbs. Tennessee also has a much more attractive opportunity for early playing time than Duke or Memphis, he basically has a guaranteed starting spot here next year.

Now he may pick Duke or Memphis, or maybe even Auburn, but as I said, from speaking with him and reading where other schools feel they are, I'd be shocked if he wasn't a volunteer next year.

FWIW Rob Lewis said this morning in the war room that duke appears to have faded, sources tell him Austin didn't feel "at home in Durham" and that while he wouldn't eliminate them they've definitely faded.

He went on to say this obviously leaves Memphis as the biggest competition for Austin, but that they feel tennessee is just the better fit, and that sources have told him Austin also thinks so.

Says there's obviosuly room for drama, but they continue to believe that Tennessee is out in front here and will land the big man.

.

"Tennessee, my twin sister is there. She likes, she probably wants me to go there. Vanderbilt has great academics. Duke, great academics and Coach 'K' is a great guy. Virginia, again academics and the coach is a really good Christian man. And Memphis, hometown team, coach (Josh) Pastner is a great guy," Nichols said.

Nichols said he may make his decision on ESPN in the next two weeks. He's enjoyed the process, but admits he's ready for it to end.

"It's tiring, I want to get it over with."

These next few weeks can't pass by fast enough. Honestly if he doesn't pick UT I rather it be Duke than anywhere else. But I'm definitely has to be UT! Go Vols

Didn't see much to be concerned about in the AU article, no?

Other than kid is still in high school and already has coach-speak down. Might benefit him waaaaaaaay down the line.

"If you can come in as a freshman and play a little bit, that's great. But I'd rather come here and like I said, be a face of the program and change it around. Lead a team to a SEC Championship and a National Championship."

Have to think Tennessee is a bit more enticing if that's a major goal.
