I dont think a lot of you people realize that at the end of the day it does not matter about how someone is ranked it's all about that individual!! Look at JaJuan Smith he was an all star at McMinn County averaged 28 points a game, but he was not heavily recruited and became a walk on at Tennessee and eventually recieved a scholarship. Everyone knows what happened after that he became a star at Tennessee and him and Chris Lofton was voted as the Top 5 backcourts in the country and a #1 ranking!! Chris Lofton also excelled and he was not heavily recruited, but he still shined!! So as long as a player plays hard and wants to win and believe they can win then that is all that matters. I feel like the two recruits we just picked up will be a great addition to our Tennessee family as long as they work hard and prepare to fight each and every night. That is all!!!!

I agree with you partially....A majority of the kids that fly under the radar, like the two you mentioned, is because the competion they usually face in HS sucks. Also, camps and AAU circuits. I'm not really familiar with Smith or Lofton's recruitment during that time but I'm willing to bet they didn't travel or camp much.

lol i was mostly kidding and feeding into the "Tennessee has a basketball team?" crowd but I dont' think it happens all that much. I have seen that a Kentucky or Duke offer does wonders to those pretty stars next to your name though.

While I agree partially, you have to have some elite level guys to win big consistently. It'd be hard to beat the Florida's and Kentucky's without some elite guys ourselves.

Florida has a nice class too. Do you think there is a possibility that the SEC will have 3 schools in the top 5 in recruiting? UK, UT, UF?

Wasn't Lofton Mr. Basketball in Kentucky? I find it hard to believe he wasn't recruited heavily, that dude could shoot the lights out.

He was a 6'0 shooting guard with limited athletic ability. Very few big time schools were after him.

Worked for us.
