Australian Open

when he had the long hair, I never liked Sampras, maybe cause he won all those Wimbledoms, he really was a great tennis player. He seems o.k. now.

Djokovic looked really good in the final. I thought it was a really good match. I would say great, but some of the early men's matches topped this one with ease. I think Djokovic and Tsonga can both be competitive in the other Slams if they play like this. It will be interesting to see how Tsonga can play on clay with all the support he'll have at Roland Garros.

as for blake/roddick, the more I watched the men's side, the more I realize no American has a realistic shot at winning a Slam. I still agree with BPV that instead of focusing on his net play and what not, Roddick has to get back to his power forehand. It's a deadly weapon when he's on. Unfortunately, it's been awhile since we've seen him on. Blake just doesn't have the talent. Has all the heart in the world though.

Doesn't really deserve it's own thread, but Ana Ivanovic won the Pac Life Open this afternoon. Figured everyone deserves to see her picture again:

I watched James Blake and Rafael Nadal a few days ago. I missed the third set, but it looked like Blake really had Nadal against the ropes. He was looking dominant. Too bad he couldn't hang on to win. I guess an American won it all, anyway.
