I agree that there are some major problems with the current format. They don't want to see the same few teams in the playoffs year after year but first round is going to be unwatchable as blowouts if some changes aren't made. I don't know the exact answer but there has to be an incentive for these teams to make sure they have significant wins vs quality competition to get in.Take the best teams and to away with automatic qualifiers. Now, we have Clemson backing into a possible playoff spot if they luck up and win the ACC.
I agree with this. Top 4 seeds shouldnt be the conference Champions, it should be the 4 best teams period. Also, i think if SMU beats Clemson, they are going to let Alabama in the playoffs at the last spot. I think it should go to South Carolina, but they will give it to the turds because of the head 2 head. South Carolina is playing great football atm. Alabama isnt.Nope. Conference Champions should get automatic bids, but not a bye. They should have to be in the top 8 to get a bye.
Do away with conference championship games. Who wants to play in Atlanta when you can play in Neyland? I think it is a disadvantage. I'm so glad we have three weeks off. Go to 16 teams, and the top 8 will get to host the first round. Basically, same amount of games. If you do that, there’s zero reason to continue having conference championship games
Are you serious? The committee said Boise State won’t be penalized. They stay ahead of Bama, Miami, and whoever else the committee votes [behind] them this Tuesday.
SEC should sue Sankey for agreeing to this crap. The fact that the ACC can get as many teams in as the SEC with their weak schedules by a bunch of voters from PAC 12 and Big 10 country, means Sankey got out maneuvered big time.
UNLV would take their place but would be a 12th seed. Am I right? The committee said Boise State won’t be penalized. They stay ahead of Bama, Miami, and whoever else the committee votes [behind] them this Tuesday.

Not necessarily. If Boise gets into the top 9, they should be a lock as only 3 conference auto bids are ranked behind them.UNLV would take their place but would be a 12th seed. Am I right?
That would have been more beneficial to the SEC in comparison to ACC, Group of 5, and Big 12. The only conference who ever had more than 1 entry besides the SEC was the Big 10.We could’ve stuck with the 4 team format.

We could have not joined Group of 5 or Notre Dame and made what worked best for the SEC, also.
Thats possible.I’m sure there’s a scenario where the sec wouldn’t have had a team in the final 4.
