I need some tips on negotiating and also selling or trading in my car
Well check the Kelly Blue Book and see what your car is worth and then go a little higher because cars are selling higher right now, then decide what model you want and I always deal with dealerships, so I would go to that dealership and look at say the 22's with very low miles and see if they can make you a deal that you could live with. Then also if you were say at a Honda dealership ask them.....and it never hurts to ask...if they would throw in a 4 year maintance plan....and if they want to sell the car bad enough..they may surprise you or at least make you a deal that you can't refuse 🙂

Looking to get a new vehicle.
Deciding between Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 and Subaru Forester.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve driven my mom’s CRV a few times - it’s surprisingly quick with the 1.5T

If you can live with a CVT it’s a good car. Averages about 30 mpg in mixed city/highway driving

Negotiating doesn't really exist anymore. The Internet exists now and I can pull up exactly what I'm looking for and have every one in front of me within a 200 mile radius in a matter of seconds. Dealers know this too. So 90% of the time they are listing theirs for what they know is a fair price and if you want 1k or 2k off they will happily let you walk, because someone will pay what they are asking. Before the Internet there was wiggle room because no one knew what market value was. Now everyone knows exactly what it market value is. You might get 200 or 300 off if they are feeling generous or it's been sitting a while.

Yes. I was also gonna say to arm yourself with info from kbb.com, both for the buying and the selling.

Used values are falling with the saturation of new on the lot.

Details? Is that a Miata? What's the plan for the project?
Yes, NB1. He wanted an NA. But we had a hard time finding one in decent condition for a decent price.

Needs some body work. Have ordered two new fenders and bumper. Will vinyl wrap after the body is straightened out.

Interior will need some updating. Dash is good, no cracks. Top is new. Probably some upgraded seats and fresh carpet.

Two stage clutch
Cat and emissions delete
Header upgrade
Upgrade radiator and cooling
Upgrade brakes
Replace old sensors, tubes, etc
Replace front and rear seals
New coils and wires
Lowered coil overs

Looking at a super charger off of a mini Cooper or maybe a turbo kit. But not sold on doing either at this point.

Sounds awesome. I wish I had time to do something like that. Keep us updated.

I want y’all’s opinion on maintaining that new car look? Are car wash places bad as in scratching or anything? Are some car wash places better than others as far as the type of system they have? Is it worth it to wash it yourself to keep it looking better? For people that wash themselves, what supplies do you recommend getting for inside and out?

Thank you.

Wash yourself. No question.

Meguire's gold class wash always works well for me. I love Meguire's Professional polymer sealant as my "wax." Chemical Guys glass sealant is great.

For the interior, I like the Chemical Guys line.

Learn to use a clay bar and something like Meg Ultimate Compound or even Scratch X for the inevitable surface boo boos.

If you're gonna do all that, then you might as well get a good quality roll bar from Hard Dog roll bars from Bethania Garage. They make a real good one for Miatas -- we have one. If you talk to the owner, Tom Beroth, tell him Cousin Ed sent ya!
