Wait, did she leave on her own accord or was she let go?
Nothing official to differentiate.
Relatively positive quote from Pissott in the Beacon article.

I think the fifth year Referenced above is related to the potential fifth year being considered by the NCAA.
I just looked that proposal up, It is really not giving a 5th year but it would implement the football model across all sports. A player could participate in up to 30% of games in a season and still be eligible for a redshirt. In effect, players would have 5 years to complete 4 + 1/3 years of eligibility.

That change would be a typical baroque NCAA ruling. Just give players five years of eligibility, with a medical hardship exemption (rather than a standard red shirt), If you are not redshirting for injury, it is usually a developmental move but a 5 year eligibility window eliminates the need for that.

No fractional seasons etc.

But, I am not sure this change if implemented would effect Jillian or Jewel's status. Does not seem that it would make sense to bring them back for just 10 to 12 games next year.

It was just a trolling move to bring up this player, who transferred under the prior staff, in a thread about Avery Strickland. A lot of players have transferred over the years. It is irrelevant to this thread.

I'm a fan of Ace....I realize her limitations, but the young lady can shoot the three ball....Hope someday soon, she finds her stroke again and has a very big game.

To my eye, Avery appears to exude the most pure energy of anyone on the team. I'm glad she's a Lady Vol and ALWAYS get a kick out of how she practically bursts onto the court to give her all in whatever minutes she gets. I hope she'll stay the course and will graduate as a Lady Vol, 'cause she's the type of young woman who will always make the program proud.
