I guess you’re trying to be funny, but if we sign any big man from the portal it’s likely Estrella won’t start over them either. I just don’t think he’s ready for it yet. Hopefully he makes a big sophomore leap though.

Only way he could get more playing time would be to allow him 10 fouls per game before fouling out

Good deal. I love Tobe and if he can fix his fouling then he can be a starter and be at least an 11/7 guy. I truly believe that. If he played 35 minutes I’m almost positive he would average 10rpg

Awaka could average 10 rebounds in 24-26 minutes a game. He's a game changer. Our 3rd most efficient player for the Vols on the whole season. Pairing him with the 6'10" stretch big from Croatia that we are after would be a dream scenario for the Vols

this may be a huge assumption based on limited playing time but I think Carr and Estrella have all-sec potential. Carr is long, athletic, and can shoot while Estrella is Big, athletic, strong, AND can shoot. Really excited for those guys.

I see Estrella as a 5 but Milicic looks like the definition of a stretch 4.

He could be a games changer if he was 6'10 or taller and could shoot from 15 feet. We did not have an experienced player who could defend or score at the 5 position against good big players. Biggest need to win a championship.

Traditional positions are thrown out the door. Both JP Estrella & Igor Milicic Jr can shoot the peel off the ball and stretch the floor. If Igor chose Vols the Croatian would start, he's a more mature polished version of JP. And he's a competitor as well. They are going with a modern look to space the floor. So having Cade Phillips & Tobe Awaka as bigs who can't shoot outside- they would have two bigs to offset that with JP + Igor. I don't think its estrellas to lose, that's why we have reached out to multiple veteran big men who will have one year of eligibility left.......

Is it realistic to have all 12 scholarship players be best buds? I would think that’s highly unlikely myself and can’t imagine someone hitting the portal because they didn’t care for one of their teammates. If Aidoo rubbed Tobe too badly, he’d be in line for a potential beat down if he pushed too hard.

Tobe seems mature and able to control his urge to open a can. If he wasn't then Sugarlips Bradshaw would still be in the ICU.
