Awesome Butch Quote....

If Dilfer is correct and we did bring in the best qb class, then the v.bell fiasco may turn out to just be a footnote. Inconsistent qb play has plagued us since Tee Martin. If one of these newcomers turns into something special, then that would go a long way towards getting us back to Tennessee Football.

Heh - I'm certain of one thing. Under CBJ there will be no more "drop back, count to two - nobody open - then throw it in the stands."

Butch Jones embraces the challenges ahead, Derrick Dooley ran from them!!

We've always talked about how Dooley regressed over the 3 years. In year 3 he couldn't even run from the challenges (since he was on crutches most of the year). LOL :eek:lol:

Be careful telling some of our posters his father was a cop. They run for cover and change their log-in name.

lol. I think the problem is that perception of the police is a lot like the perceptions people develop of teachers in that the bad ones give the good ones a very bad reputation.

That said, I've encountered many who'd move mountains for you, those who were good even to the people who were real criminals (by that I mean felony and/or violent types), who were able to calm down people having outbursts and took their jobs and training seriously -- always learning new things and even learning how to discern mental illness from a drug reaction and how to humanely deal with people with mental illness.

I've also encountered a few who were complete jerks who abuse their power. IMO, those guys and gals need to be removed from any police dept. ASAP. Unfortunately, they are the ones that give all cops a bad name.

Personally, I just try to take people as they come no matter what they do for a living.

Love the enthusiasm. I'm glad we got a coach who has embraced everything orange so passionately. He knows we want to see results on the field and I think he will deliver. Do work son!

:good!::good!::good!::good!::good!::good!::good!:

I hope he's good enough that the NFL comes calling in about 6 or so years. I don't think he would take another college job but he strikes me as the type to take a shot at the next level if the opportunity presents its self. If it does that means we have had some good years and will be the best position for a coaching change since Majors to Fulmer.

I think what says the most about Dooley's tenure here is that even after 3 years, people still can't spell his name right.

Not being a jerk either. But everyone knows how to spell Lombardi and Madden and Ditka.

Shoot...most of us even know Cuonzo by now. You do a decent bit of winning and people spell your name right.

“I pray every day I’m going to be here forever,” Jones said. “You guys may get tired of me in about 30 years.”
I love this guy. I really think he's going to get it done. He thinks he's going to get it done. And I think he's going to work hard enough to do it.

It would be fantastic if he's still here in thirty years. It would mean he's probably one of the most successful coaches we've ever had.

For his sake, I hope he knows what he's doing!
