Awful Decision From McCain Camp

Non-issue. His speech is boring and his crowd is small. It doesn't matter, people aren't voting for McCain, they're voting against Obama.

Not everyone....if I vote for McCain, it won't be because I am voting against Obama. I think that I will end up voting for McCain...but I am still undecided....

And who's calling you racist for criticizing Obama?
Jaytrain, of course. He carries that flag.

I'm not running for the highest public office in the land, so nobody should care. Obama, on the other hand.....

You have to admit Tenn, if that was a conservative everyone would be questioning whether or not the guy is a racist.

I don't know that. Has there been a similar example where a candidate didn't utter a single word that was in the same universe as racist but was questioned about being racist b/c of the actions of a few people he knew?

There's an inordinate amount of emphasis on people in Obama's church and some guys he's known, but very little recognition of the many, many other high-profile supporters he has. People are free to think he's got some plan to promote blacks once he gets in office, but I happen to think that's silly and unproductive.

There is a double standard when it comes to these kind of things... I'm no Trent Lott fan, but look what happened to him, and Obama has defended the peole who are racist and a lot more than he ever did.

So you stuck your nose in because I like Fulmer and you don't?

Not surprised coming from shortsighted Fulmer haters.
are you about to turn 18 and feeling the heat of prepping for your first vote?

and don't bother, I know that you knew I was going to ask that.

Fair. My point is you're not going to see excited mobs following McCain around. There are large numbers that are not going to get excited about him. They'll just wake up election day, head to the poll and push the button for him. I am one of those.

So your charges of racism (preferential treatment, what have you) are immaterial?

I was talking about kpt who hasn't said a word in any of the political discussions and then brings up my support of Fulmer when attacking me here.

I've posted in this forum for months. In fact, I've already posted in this very thread before the post you quoted. Don't you ever get tired of being wrong?

I'll have to see if I can find it but in one of his speeches, Obama made a statement that those criticizing him (in particular looking into his associations) would be practicing divisive politics along the lines of race, class, etc.

In particular he said he knows the Republicans will do this. To me, he is stereotyping Reps as race dividers and preconditioning people to treat any criticisms against him as having a racial or class element.

Yeah that's it. Have you noticed how you like to make everything about yourself?

Says a person who came into a political discussion and attacked me personally and my personal views on Fulmer, which had nothing to do with this thread.

LOL you're funny.

you act as if these are casual acquaintances. that is absolutely not even close to true. These are confidants in the truest sense of the word.

We're on a message board, silly and unproductive is about the right speed.

.

Which, let's be honest, he's not the only Dem to do it.

Nope, just shortsighted, closed-minded individuals that can not stand for someone to have a different view than them.

Looks to be about 4-5 people.

Short sighted is when you only critcise one side when claiming to be independent. I just call it like I see it.

Well I'd argue with you, but how can I go against a guy with the name VolzRChamps that doesn't think championships are important? How could I possibly match wits with the conservative that likes Obama? It simply wouldn't be possible.

I'll assure you that I'm completely comfortable in the fact that you and I think nothing alike, thank goodness.

I'm not sure what racist people you're referring to.

I think people called out Trent Lott b/c he said things would've been a lot better had Strom Thurmond become president when he was running as a segregationist. If that's not racist, it's certainly demeaning to all races and downright stupid, and he deserved the criticism, especially considering he was Sen. Maj. Leader at the time (correct?).

But regardless - just b/c we might feel some people "get away" with being racist, shouldn't we condemn racism wherever we see it? In other words, just because some people sometimes get away with it, we shouldn't let everyone get away with it, right?
