Awful Decision From McCain Camp

Short sighted is when you only critcise one side when claiming to be independent. I just call it like I see it.

Then you must be blind my friend. I took up for McCain the other day, in this thread's first post I said his speech was high on content and whenever Obama does something that is worth my criticism, I'll be sure to send you a private message alerting you of my fairness.

I'm not sure what racist people you're referring to.

I think people called out Trent Lott b/c he said things would've been a lot better had Strom Thurmond become president when he was running as a segregationist. If that's not racist, it's certainly demeaning to all races and downright stupid, and he deserved the criticism, especially considering he was Sen. Maj. Leader at the time (correct?).

But regardless - just b/c we might feel some people "get away" with being racist, shouldn't we condemn racism wherever we see it? In other words, just because some people sometimes get away with it, we shouldn't let everyone get away with it, right?

No, I think you should call a spade a spade. The racist people I'm referring to are .. well basically his church, (plus he hung out with a terrorist). That said, Lott just meant he was a good leader and meant nothing about segregation? Was it dumb? Sure... should it cost him his job? No moreso than anyone else who has said worse things (Murtha, Reid, Pelosi et al)

Are you saying Obama has done nothing so far?

I'll have to see if I can find it but in one of his speeches, Obama made a statement that those criticizing him (in particular looking into his associations) would be practicing divisive politics along the lines of race, class, etc.

In particular he said he knows the Republicans will do this. To me, he is stereotyping Reps as race dividers and preconditioning people to treat any criticisms against him as having a racial or class element.

Let me know when you find it.

You do know about Karl Rove's ploy to plant a rumor that McCain had fathered an illegitimate black baby during the SC primary in 2000, don't you? It basically ended any hope McCain had of winning the GOP nomination. Perhaps that's the type of divisive politics Obama was referring to. I don't know.

(I voted for McCain that year, btw).

I'm not the one crying about everyone being against me.

I never cried about it, and I said there were 4-5 of you people that I could care less about. That's hardly "everyone".

Wipe the tears, they are clouding your reading abilities.

By the way, not only are Championships important, but EASTERN DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIPS are worth celebrating regardless if it weakens hatred of a particular coach because it's a success that you don't want to admit to or not.

So.... this guys misses one of your posts and he's blind. You've missed several of mine and that somehow makes me out to get you, but you're still right.

Yes I'm aware of that event - unforgivable IMHO.

The speech was during one of his primary victories. I referenced it in another thread the night it happened. I can probably dig it up from there.

yeah, those circumstances are very similar.

But it doesn't mean we can't criticise Fulmer for winning 0 championships since '98.

Well it's obvious you celebrate mediocrity. Let me save you the trouble of deciding who to vote on. Obama is right for you.

I will retype it, try to keep up.

That's why I replied, you keep up. There are plenty of thngs that he's done that are worth criticism... but you're right, you're fair minded.

maybe your conservative bona fides will kick in soon and tell you that he has an extreme socialist agenda. Seems to me your Spidey senses aren't as good as your ability to predict what everyone else is going to say.

Never said you couldn't.

But doing so without recognizing accomplishments is..... shortsighted. (Notice a trend when I describe you?)

I would start my own trend about you, but the word would cause me to be banned. Is having your head in your psoterior that would be covered under UHC?

I don't know of any racists that Obama has defended or continues to defend. I do know that he's renounced racist comments from Wright and Pfleger.

Socialism isn't worth critcism, keep up BPV.

You left out an important word.

MY

MY Criticism. I don't critisize Obama for things his wife didn't say that I hope she did so that it will ruin him.

I wait for things I actually have a problem with MYSELF.

Exactly, you don't have a problem with socialism, I get it.
