'24 AZ EDGE Elijah Rushing (Oregon commit)

We shall see. Just because you think so doesn’t mean it’s fact. We have been out bid before. It will happen again.

If that’s the case, just because you think our NIL is bad, makes it a fact?

Have you been to any of these meetings in person?

He’s a West Coast kid who probably grew up dreaming of playing for Oregon, will be playing for a defensive head coach and in a conference that he will be guaranteed to play a game in his home state every season.

Not everything is about NIL guys.
Cornbread was a defensive head coach too.....

Too funny! Quickest route from Tucson to UT campus doesn't join I-40 until 1280 miles out of Tucson. I-10 out of Tucson to I-20 split in no name west Texas to I-30 west outskirts of Fort Worth to I-40 at Little Rock is the quickest way, but still a long ass drive no matter how you spin it.
That is a hideously boring drive.

What did he do that was so bad last season…. We were using walk ins at the end of the Bama game last year.

What good has he done? Our Secondary has been awful even when everyone was healthy. Very little development and most games our Secondary players looked lost or were getting torched.

It's a long flight ✈️ let alone drive 🚗

Yeah clearly that’s what I mean 🙄. I guess as a Vol fan you HAVE to say our NIL program is just fine right?
Winning program outweighs nil…..
Nil was huge a couple years ago but businesses won’t continue to pay without a return….
It’s still important but it has faded compared to what it started out as

People also have to realize too, that with the transfer portal as it is, these visits may not be enough to get them now....but they may be enough to get them in a year or two, or even four or five.

As is said, people will never forget how you make them feel. The kids that are coming here on visits repeatedly talk about how the staff is genuine and personal and spends all day with them and makes them feel like family and keeps it real.

So, maybe a kid like Rushing does choose Oregon. Maybe it works out. Or maybe it doesn't. And maybe he says to himself, "Dang...Tennessee was really good to me. Maybe I could play there."

These visits hold more weight than they used to, because unless I am wrong, you don't get more Official Visits when you're in the portal. All they have is the relationship they built with the coaches and the experiences they had.

All I'm saying, is that these visits are seeds that sometimes end up resulting in immediate fruit, as in, commitments. But they very well could pay off down the road too. It is never really over anymore. And when you have a staff like ours? That's a really good thing.

So NIL was the game changer. The thing that would level the playing field. That’s what we were told. It’s the future. Either get with NIL or get left behind. So now all of a sudden NIL doesn’t mean that much. Lol. So now kids don’t really care about the money? I am confused.
