'24 AZ EDGE Elijah Rushing (Oregon commit)

So NIL was the game changer. The thing that would level the playing field. That’s what we were told. It’s the future. Either get with NIL or get left behind. So now all of a sudden NIL doesn’t mean that much. Lol. So now kids don’t really care about the money? I am confused.
They care about it, but it’s not sustainable for the business owners funding a majority of it. They’re simply not getting a big enough ROI. It will eventually change to where athletes are getting a percentage of the media, ticket, and merchandise revenue rather than the NIL deals they’re currently getting

It didn’t take a genius to realize that NIL deals were going to give a crappy ROI for a business. In reality, all NIL did was legalize the rental of players.

Man this would be a huge pick up, I didn’t even know he was on the radar until a sds article said we made his top 4 and his commitment date is July 6.
A lot of ppl thinking the kid is staying home… but it’d be cooler if he didn’t and came to tennessee 😅

If I were rich I wouldnt be looking for an ROI, I'd just want more wins for UT period (which in a different way is an ROI).

That is the ROI for those funding the NIL same as the fans paying into the collective. No business/person went into this expecting to make cash back off funding the players NIL, just to improve their teams quality of play. OP was just highlighting that teams that aren’t getting more wins, even with NIL dollars flowing, will be less inclined to keep spending if it shows no direct correlation to success for their team.

So outbid yet again. Guess we will just have to get used to losing out on top guys because of lackluster NIL.
Lol. So we are supposed to always individually outbid Georgia, Alabama, and Oregon, among others, for separate DL, or else our NIL sucks?

Elijah Rushing has locked in a commitment date for July 6. According to a source, Rushing had a good visit to Tennessee over the weekend, but the Vols still appear to be behind in this race. Notre Dame was trending early, and the Irish remain in the top two, but Oregon grabbed the momentum in the spring and carried it into the summer. With a decision approaching, the Ducks look to be in the best position. The four-star EDGE in Arizona has tripped to Eugene numerous times and Dan Lanning has made him a personal target from the beginning.

Sometimes it matters. Sometimes it doesn't. We had a ****** product to sell before last fall so NIL was super important. Now we have a good product to sell so it's less important. But we're not near the product that Alabama, Georgia, Ohio St, Clemson have to sell.

With some kids it still really matters. With some kids it doesn't. You're going to need to be able to hold multiple thoughts in your head at once.

Chad believes not in top 2 which is unfortunate. Sounds like we gave him a hell of a shot. Maybe we can pick him up in the portal in a couple years.
Yes, have to play the long game now. Strange but recruiting battles aren't over even after they go to another school. I wonder how communication happens with players already on a team?
