'24 AZ EDGE Elijah Rushing (Oregon commit)

Rob Waldrop. He was on my team during his first year playing organized football. He lived down the street from me. He was projected to go in the Top 10 of the NFL draft, and then he nuked his knee in the Arizona State game at the end of the season.

That's taking a lot out of context. Obviously, we are way better but Arizona is turning into a solid program, just had a long rebuild. They have built a loaded offense skill positions wise even after losing Singer
They got a upset win at UCLA last year and Colorado is better. I wouldn't be surprised if they have a worst record next year

I was going to follow-up with the longer version of this gif, but then realized you chose your version based on long-term survival of the gif (language).
Assumed most everyone knows what comes next.

Yep…. He was a stud

So what I’ve been able to figure out:
- the kid wants a surprise
- Oregon seemed to think they were in great shape until yesterday. They’ve always felt Arizona was their competition and when it seemed shaky they pushed and realized it wasn’t. Seems like they took their ball and went home. Oregon only knows it’s not them and not that it is Arizona which is what it seems like everyone is running with.
- not sure why the Oregon beat guys are so dismissive of Tennessee but it’s not coming from the family and isn’t true. They might be right ultimately but their dismissiveness is wrong
- 24 hours ago I wasn’t particularly worried about Arizona and knew Oregon was fading, which is why I said I’d lean Tennessee. If you had given me any situation where Oregon was out, I probably would’ve wagered a large sum of money on Tennessee. I don’t know if something actually changed with Arizona, I had bad info (don’t think that’s true as it’s mostly lined up with everyone else sans Oregon’s beat reporters) or if I should just trust what I did have and stick with Tennessee. I do think Arizona put quite a foot forward with NIL and having the brother on scholarship there obviously helps
- we’ve been in touch since all this went on
- most confusing last 24 hours of a recruitment since Francis Mauigoa. We’ll all know the answer in 22 hours

Lets be honest now. They are trash and no where near respectable. Candy > au
lol no. Several of their losses were close and to good teams. Lost to Washington by 10 on the road. Lost by 8 to USC. Lost to Wazzu by 11. Beat UCLA when they were top 10. Outside of Cal, all their losses were to respectable teams (Mississippi State, Wazzu, and a 4 game stretch of Oregon, Washington, USC, and Utah). UCLA was the 5th game in that stretch too. Had a top 25 offense already. Going from winless to 1-11 to 5-7 in two years and competing with good teams is not nothing

I’m sorry but you don’t go to Arizona over Oregon or an SEC school. I would just be shocked if he chose them over the other two schools.
If you can play ball, you can play ball. Really don't matter where you are per se. Development is key. Garner is a great coach, but there are other good coaches out there.
