'24 AZ EDGE Elijah Rushing (Oregon commit)

Oregon was the heavy favorite for a while now then Arizona surpassed them
yeah, this.

if we don't get this kid, we never really had him to begin with. took a big swing with the OV.....and hope for the best. and it appears it was a great swing, either way.

anyone saying we led here, or "lost" this or "can't close" is a moran.

Development is how you get to the NFL. Not to mention if the average career is only the length of a rookie deal, wouldn’t you want to go as high as possible and better developed in college for a higher chance of success, as well as larger rookie deal?

That's my point. Illinois, which is, comparable to Ariz.. Both are basketball schools first. But the #5 draft pick came from Illinois. There's great Coach's everywhere that can get you to the NFL. Who's to say if he went to Ala or Ohio St, that he wouldn't be stuck behind other guys with just as much or more talent. He may not have gotten on the field somewhere else. As I said, you can get to the league and be a top 1st rd pick without going to an elite football school. Texas Tech had the #7
player picked , an Edge Rusher. Yet he's supposedly in a conference that doesn't play defense. Point being you choose a school for other reasons than just getting to the NFL.

then there's the fact he's like the # 1 player at his position or whatever.....some guys are pre destined.

and for those select few, it really shouldn't matter where they go, so long as it's not a sh!t show program that makes you worse....lol.

which is why i always find it interesting how that's Bama's selling point. Derrick Henry was going to the NFL, period. Will Anderson was going to the NFL, period. you can rattle of a dozen more names at Bama or UGA that probably fit that category.

that's not say they don't develop...don't misunderstand me....i'm saying that there are probably 15-25 prospects most years that would wind up in the NFL, no matter where they go. this kid may be one of them, we'll find out....but i'd bet "yes" right now, AZ, TN, or OR.
