We do not know how close it was. IMHO it was an incredible job just to be considered getting in as late as we did. It would be crazy hard to leave home with your brother playing at a notable school. I understand their football brand is terrible but they are not some southern conference flunky. I applaud him for this decision. Does it suck? Absolutely. I would bet it was a very hard decision for him. I see him playing there with his brother and then transferring out to a better program. Who knows maybe he gets there and he and his brother blow up and hit the portal and we get them both a year later. At the end of the day I don’t begrudge the kid one bit.

I'm not too upset about a kid in AZ. Its the sum of all the parts. Continuing to hear how we knock it out of the park, for local kids and far away.

Plenty of things to be thankful for, and will have a good July.

I'd be more worried about missing on Franklin.

Garner has consistently recruited him and acted like he was number 1 even before his ranking rose. If we miss on Franklin, that would tell me we need another good season before we can really sell recruits on Tennessee's defense the way Georgia and Alabama sell theirs.

Still think we'll win games with Heupel and his offense, but I want championships.
